c) For those who can afford it, Marble.

D) Cement nesting planks. Long lasting.

So which would you choose to have it in your soon to be farm? Of course it depends on our budget. By budget is not the only sole criteria .

Other criterias would be durability, less mold & fungus problem, clean nest, easy harvesting, easy for birds to make nest,etc.

Currently there more and more type of nesting planks with different kinds of material and shapes available in the market. The above are the commonly used planks in farm.

Even on wood nesting planks itself, there are thousands type of them in term of wood species. Then break down in to Meranti and further break down into sub-species.

Certain type even though bearing the same name of Meranti but the durability and quality are different from those that are in the higher grade.

As for me I still prefer wood. If you use the right type of wood mold & fungus are history.
