I want a Good Sound

.

Good Morning James, do you have this sound? The name is……

.

.

I replied, why?

.

James, I need it for my farm as my old sound is not attracting as many birds compared to months back when my farm first started operation.

...
.

Do you know why not many birds coming to play now? They get bored with the sound. This is part of nature and it is call adaptation.

.

.

As long there is growth in nests and there is an increase in new spots of bird shits you shouldn’t worry about changing the sound.

.

.

James, I want to see many birds come and play.

.

.

Well this has been a norm for most if not all swiftlets farmers. Seeing is believing can’t blamed them. How about having few hundred birds come and play everyday and they don’t build nest? Have you thought about that?

.

.

Swiftlets hearing responses to the frequency 1-16 kHz. With most energy focuses on 2-5khz ( fullard et 1993).

.

.

This frequency falls into normal human hearing. The only difference is at which tone, high or low when swiftlets produce the sound of chirping and echolocation.

.

.

Therefore if you are experience enough in Swiftlet sound you would be able to distinguish the low and high pitch of the same sound from a single female calling.

.

.

The high and low pitches of female calling sound is influenced by the situation, the environment of the farm and the location the bird is in.

.

.

If you compare any 2 Cd sounds together you would find that these sounds have different pitches. Eg: chiiit..chiiit… would be higher and longer compared to the other which appeared in different time of the Cds.

.

.

What does this means? The high and low pitches produced by the birds at a particular time are influenced by the situation whether the birds being disturbed, frighten, or having some good time, etc.

.
.
Most recording of sound are done in farm. The person who is doing the recording has to be careful not to frighten the birds while inside the farm. If it does the recording would contains some of these sounds that you may be surprised that will attract many birds to come and play.
.
.
These are not favorable sounds that would help nests growth but certainly would be good for farmers who love to see many birds instantly when they switched on the sound. I always omitted these types of sound from my remix.
.

.

Swiftlets live in colonies and they are very curious types of birds. Being their natures of colony bonding and curiosity in them any threats within their boundaries they will fly in to help and investigate. Therefore whenever a new sound is switched on especially with unusual pitch you will see them swamping in to investigate.

.

.

For me I will identify and only select those favorable sounds produced by young females and avoid those that are unfavorable. There are lots of works in remixing and re-mastering a Cd sound it is definitely more than just cut and paste.

..

.

.

Re-adjusting the frequency to suit the hearing capability of swiftlets is very important because without frequency there is no sound.

.

Good Farming all.

James,
