Stagnated. No Nests Increase. Nests Reduce!

Have you heard of number of nest in farm stagnated? Or the numbers of nests stays the same for a long period of time and never increased or even reduce.

This is what happened to a reader of my in the North. Last month I was invited to rectify this problem. His farm is a 3 storey shop. The upper 2 floors were converted into farm. This farm has been operated for almost 4 years and has about 200 plus nests.

According to him it has remained the same for more than a year and he sees no improvement. In fact he has engaged few consultants to rectify this problem but all failed.

The owner told me his neighbor who started farming later than him performed better. I told him that all his birds went to his neighbors’ farm. His farm is a nursery centre to produce young birds once they leave they will never come back. Those remain ones are the old loyal birds that one day will die. Soon his population would decline. In fact it showed the sign now.

As I enter the farm I could feel the humidity low and the temp is not right. They were too many ventilation holes and too many inter holes. The birds could exit from different holes from the floor below to the floor on top. To me this would confuse the birds and it takes long time for adaptation.

I asked the owner what is the reason for so many Vent holes and inter holes, he replied this were the ideas of the consultants.

Then I asked again, have the nests increased after the revamp? He replied, no.

I advise him to close some of the vent holes and inter holes. Those that are not necessary need to be closed. The light density is also a problem his farm was too bright. One of his consultants claimed that birds like bright environment too dark of a farm is a problem therefore the consultant creates a bright environment. All these make the farm upside down. I wonder where this consultant learns it from perhaps from some 2 days seminars abroad.

I advise him to do the necessary things and then apply Love Potion. I see his farm has good potential to grow. To push up the number of nests to double is not a problem at all. All he needs to do is to do it correctly.

He bought 4 bottles of Love Potion from me. It was exactly one month ago. Few days ago he called me and said.

“Thank you James. I am very happy about the result of my farm. After almost one month of spraying Love Potion and following your instruction. There are twenty plus new nests in my farm. I am very happy. For a year or more my nests only increase one or two sometimes reduce.”

As I had always said do it correctly you won’t go wrong. But sad to say so majority did it wrong even so called expert.

A good farm cannot stagnate it will continue to grow to the full capacity or the space allowed in the farm. Therefore it is common to see nests build on planks in double or triple roll. When stagnation occurs it indicates problem. Once this problem arises you have to rectify them immediately.

Good farming all!
