Meeting 2 brothers from Indonesia

( Fav0la Italian restaurant)

I wish I could rest but I am unable to do so. Rushing to the Le Meridian Kuala Lumpur Hotel to meet up with 2 brothers from Indonesia.

We have been communicating thru email quite regularly and the younger brother flies all the way from Canada while the elder one flies in from Jakarta. They got to know me thru my blog and decided to meet up with me when the younger brother flies back to Indonesia.

I was late and the traffic jam in K.L was terrible but I manage to reach there before 8pm and just nice for dinner. They were already waited for me at the hotel lobby both of them look alike and I thought they were twin but the elder one looks more mature.

I was quite touched as both were so eager to meet up with me. The elder one Mr.A.R had involved in Swiftlet farming for quite a while and owns many farms. They wanted to expend their EBN businesses and wanted to learn more about how Malaysians do swiftlet farming.

I asked Mr.A.R isn’t it there are lots of consultants in Indonesia? He replies, yes, but they do it differently as they have different cultures. Out of curiosity I asked him, have you heard of this guy call Pak …claimed to be so and so.. His reply was not that I know and never heard of him. He said there are few hundred thousand farms in Indonesia and there are thousands of consultants nowhere he could know who is who unless they are well prominent and skillful.

Again I ask what about Dr. Negroho and Dr.Arif? He replies, “Oh of course yes certainly. These are the well respectable persons. They are famous.” I certainly agreed with him.

Mr.A.R noted that his country natural resources are depleting rapidly and more and more new farms are coming up every day. The only way to counter this is to learn more new different techniques of farming from abroad.

Mr.A.R wants to know how Malaysians do it as it is different from their traditional ways of farming. Mr.A.R explained many farmers are using the computer CPU in Indonesia for sound while he could buy an Amp with all settings less than Rm600.00 in Pudu. He cited that there is so much to learn and that is the reason he is here for.

He knows K.L quite well as he has some business involvement in home theater system and often travel here. He cited many years ago many of his friends were using VCD players in farms and when he was shopping for home theater system in Pudu, he stubble upon Amp with USB. He was so excited and had never seen it before and bought 50 units home.

We start off with a dinner at one of the restaurant in the Hotel. It was his younger brother idea. We had our dinner at the Favola Italian Restaurant. It was a beautiful restaurant with Italian setting reminiscent of the Renaissance era of Italy.

The younger brother Mr. A.D who had just completed his MA will be going back to work with his brother and at the same time would like to get involve in Swiftlet farming. He told me that he got to know my blog while surfing the Web and thanked me for sharing so much information. With the sheer interest he has thought of starting a blog when he goes back to Indonesia if he has the time.

I encourage him to do so and promised to guide him if he allows me to do so. I explained to him if you want to write or start a blog you must know the reason of your involvement. There are few principles we must adhere to : 1st we must not envy others just because they are better or they had acquired better skill than us or they are more advance.

Our whole reason here is to teach without boundary. Not that you are young or I am older or you are pioneer and so on that doesn’t count. That doesn’t matter most important we spread the information to those who are keen in Swiftlet farming. That is the whole idea of Swiflets farming Blog.

He appreciates what I had taught him and invited me to visit their farms in Indonesia next month and at the same time to discuss further about some businesses related to Swiftlet farming. I told him that I am very busy with my current projects stretching till Chinese New Year perhaps I would try to accommodate it.

After dinner we talked about Swiftlet farming in Malaysia and the differences between those countries of South East Asia and different cultures of farming that needed to be adapted or localised to suit different environments.

Obviously farming in Malaysia can't follow those in Indonesia which have entrance hole of 4x8 inches subsequently those in Indonesia can't follow farms in Malaysia that have entrance hole of 4x4ft. So we need to be flexible and improvise. Mr. A.R agrees with me.

It was a fruitful meeting because Mr.A.R is not a newbie in Swiftlet farming. He knows quite a number of well known EBN producers in South East Asia.

Good Swiftlet Farming All. The Best Is To Share. “Winner Talks about the future, Loser Talks about the Past.”
