NEST PROCESSING

More and more people are going into Nests processing now. It is a trade  perceived by many as low risk, easy to manage, easy to work with, economically strong without worrying about demand, etc..

That is not true, somehow it requires skill and labor intensive. Skill is most vital, with good skill it reduces wastage. The biggest challenge is wastage and the time factor. Obviously over a period workers would master the cleaning skill  thus increases  the production rate per worker.

I was visiting a friend nest processing center last week and here are the pictures taken during my visit.  As usual a long overdue meeting which suppose to be held before Chinese New Year but now already April.

A bag of raw nests waiting to be cleaned. It is taxing if the nests are dirty with feathers. It stretches the  cleaning time.

The left bowl are of dirty raw  nests with feathers, small in sizes and colored. This is due to poor Bird house micro control. Mistakenly perceived  if a Bh is dirty the nests quality will be poor, dirty with feather, and yellowish. That is not true, cleaning the Bh every week, disposing  the droppings neither help. It is the micro control.

This Machine is specially made/designed  for nest cleaning. It kills germ  ( Ozone) and removes feathers making cleaning lots more easy. It is a must to have this machine in nest processing center. The workers will love you for having this machine. Incredibly reduces the cleaning time. At least more than 50% of the feather is removed.

Before and after. The right bowl after going through the machine. Processing centers that are  without the machine have to start removing feather manually after soaking them (left bowl).

A closer look at the raw nests after just a few minutes with the machine. 100% no chemical used in the washing process by the machine. I was there witnessing the whole cleaning process. "Fantastic". The raw nests are cleaner and whiter now.

The washed nests are  filtered again with different size of  net.

Feathers are further removed.

Some of the finished products EBN. It looks simple, It is a labor intensive work.

Enjoy the pictures.

Good Swiftlet farming All!
