(The Nest chips are Rm 900.00 /500g, and the Nests biscuits are Rm 1000.00 /500g. Those who are interested may contact me)
I was at my friend's Nest Processing Center yesterday. It
seems the EBN business is picking up. He is getting busier. We supposed to have
lunch together but have to cancel it as he has to go and collect raw nests from customers. His phone kept ringing.... It was irritating.
It wasn't like this a couple of months ago. It is indeed a
good sign. I hope the whole EBN Industry would go back to its glory day. While
I was there I took some pictures of Nest biscuits and nests chips from
his Nests Processing center.
Ever since Raw nests were restricted from exporting to
China...many had gone into Nest Processing. It is not uncommon to see many new
brands of packed processed EBN in the market now. They fetch a better price
after processed. Nest processing center has mushroomed lately. The question remains do they have a good marketing arm to market
their finished products....?
Prior to this, a couple of days ago I had met up with a
Swiftlet farmer who owned a 3 storey stand-alone Swiftlet farm located not far
from Kuala Lumpur. He is a retiree who had ventured into Swiftlet farming not
long ago. He had attended a few seminars, and from there he builds his Swiftlet
farm with the guidance of some so called Sifus.
His Swiftlet farm is not doing well. I have not visited his Swiftlet farm
before .... also he is not a user of Love Potion. He is so crazy about Swiftlet
farming and so confident about what he was doing..he started a Nests Processing
center even before his Swiftlet farm produced nests.
Investing into Nest processing is not easy.. he employs
people, buys equipments, etc..... he also buys raw nests to process as his
Swiftlet farm had yet to produce any nest. After a year, the Nest processing center closed down as the
operation cost was too high... He couldn't sustain it. He ended with many kg of
unsold processed nests. I was wondering
whose going to buy from him if he doesn't have
the contacts.. especially people from the EBN trade.
That is not all.....still with a strong belief he now
ventured into EBN bottling....again I wonder whose going to buy from him as
there are so many bottled EBN brands in the market, furthermore some are well
known brands with very competitive prices. He could be probably ended up with
many..many..bottled EBN.
Good Swiftlet farming All!
