Last week I was in Johor Bahru visiting some old Swiftlets buddies. The property boom had really changed the skyline of Johor Bahru especially those near the Iskandar development areas.
I was at Bandar Baru Permas Jaya. Many years back, this town was considered a bad investment for property investors.
If my memory served me well, it was just few coffee shops and offices operating then, and most Shop lots were left unoccupied.
What are you to do with them other then converting them into Swiftlet farms. That was many years back. But, now everything had changed. The property boom had brought business to this town. Now it is a bustling town with many business activities.
But the Swiftlet farms here remain unchanged, very well camouflaged and blended into the city life.
It is estimated 80% of Swiftlet farm in Malaysia come from Shop lot. The successful rate of Swiftlet farming from Shop lot unit is very much higher than those of Standalone ( bungalow).
If you are not into Swiftlet farming, you will never noticed that there are so many Swiftlet farms here.

Enjoy the pictures. You could build Swiftlet farms in Shop Lots in a city, but make sure they are nicely camouflaged and blended in to city environment.
