Nests built again after harvesting. It indicated the Internal environment is at its best.
A couple of months ago I was in Sarawak. I was invited to visit few Swiftlet farms by some long time customers who I had built their Swiftlet farms many years ago. Over the years all of us have became very good friends. I was in Miri for few days and later traveled to Bintulu.
The interesting part which I am writing now is one particular Swiftlet farm which I had built few years ago. The owner has very little knowledge about Swiftlet farming. As far as I am concerned , I consider him novice....from the scale of 1 to 10. He probably falls at 1-2. One being the least knowledgeable. He went into Swiftlet farming because it was a trend then.
After the Swiftlet farm was built he managed it for few months and thereafter he never visited the farm for almost 3 years. He totally abandoned it, cited not free and he has other more important businesses to attend to. Can you imagine that, a Swiftlet farm being locked-down for nearly 3 years.
His workers only have the access to the control room as it was separated from the farm. On and off they will make sure the External and Internal sound in running. The Swiftlet farm was using my creation of Gs 9 and Hypnotic sound which came with the consultation package offered by me.
Eventually, one day in March he decided to pay a visit to his. He called me and asked for assistance. I was shocked to hear that. The feeling of anger running through my head. This Swiftlet farm was designed and built by me. Even though it doesn't belong to me but, I still felt there is a sense of attachment. I know I have to do something about it.
I told him you need to clear all those dropping. It would affect the internal environment. He needs to check what is inside the farm besides Swiftlets. Often too long of a period there would be predators living inside. I listed out all the important things he needs to do. He needs to do it fast if he wants to turn around the farm.

There were bats, geckos, lizards, ants etc in the Swiftlet Farm. I advised him to get rid of them. I guided him for weeks. I told him when I come over I would like to see changes in the farm. Old damaged Tweeters were changed and replaced with new HI-NEST Tx20 and GS-18. New tweeters were placed at new areas of the farm to attract more birds to stay and build nests.
There are already Swiftlets and Nests inside the farm. Now, the works is to increase the number of nests and improve the Nests quality. He has to harvest all nests except those that have chicks and eggs inside. Those yellowish and thick nests with multiple layers which had been built over the years have to go.( He hasn't harvested any Nests in this farm before)
I reminded him again , only harvest those nests that have been left by the adult birds. I don't believe in throwing eggs away which many are still practicing it now and I strongly against it. Remember " Karma" always works and has its ways.

In order to push up the Nests growth he has to put extra effort as the farm has been neglected for too long. I taught him how to control the Ventilation pipes to get the optimum humidity. All this while he couldn't bother with the humidity. What needs to be closed must close, especially those that are facing the Sun directly. Now he managed to control the RH at around 84-94%. The temperature looks good too.
After followed all my instructions and done all the necessary things and about 2 months later when I visited his Swiftlet farm. The result was fantastic. He is dam lucky. The Swiftlet farm was totally shut down, no maintenance and was left as it is and yet there are so many nests inside. I am unable to reveal how many kg of nests inside as I had promised the owner not to do so as it would attract theft .
I was surprised to see the wood planks remain as good as before. The Dark brown Meranti is the way to go. He has no regret of choosing the best wood planks which I have strongly recommended. I can not imagine if he had chosen those low quality planks and now the nests are multiplying and the planks start to deteriorate then he would have big headache.
Below are the pictures taken by me during my visit to the said Swiftlet farm. Within 2 months the number of nests had increased. Better quality nests, bigger in size, cleaner and whiter. What you could clearly see here is that, the essence of a successful farm lies on the importance of its design, skill and knowledge together with good technique of using the correct gadgets ( Sound, Tweeters, Hormone, Amplifier, etc) could change the farm from bad to good.
Enjoy the pictures! Good Swiftlet farming All.
" Good Skill plus Right Gadgets equal to Successful Swiftlet Farm"

Swiftlets are taking up all corner areas of the planks. All tweeters have nests on them. The owner is going to install another 300 tweeters. He would have 300 new nests in 2-3 months time. A very good bet.
They can't resist the Hypnotism of the internal sound
People often ask ...Doesn't internal sound influence the development of nest...in term of quality, size, etc? The answer is definitely YES! Right sounds with the right frequencies create an environment of soothing, calm , safe, etc. Swiftlets would feel comfortable and safe , no fear and rush in building nests. This process thus produces higher quality nests. ( will elaborate on my next article)
The 4 sides tweeters make sense when installed in the correct area. Provided, they are playing the right internal sound and installed at the right places in the nesting areas.
Nests are built on all 4 sides of the tweeters
When you see the areas that have been harvested and within weeks or months Nests are built there again. This shows more Switlets are staying including those of young adults birds.

They love the the internal sound so much. We can't find a single tweeter that has no Nest on it. All tweeters are 100% occupied.
Once all Tweeters are occupied with Nests . Birds will build Nests on the straight planks

The Entrance hole. A 3.5 x 2.5 ft size. Surrounded with Hinests Gs18 Tweeters.
HINEST GS 18 tweeters at the 2nd entrance hole to leads and guide Swiftlets to Nesting area.
Temperature at 28C and the Rh at 94% on the lowest floor. A well controlled micro is a must if you want to see good quality nests. The TFA German made hygrometer shows accurate reading. There are few types of TFA hygrometer. This is the most reliable one and last a life time. It is the Synthetic type. Don't mix-up with the common look a like which is also from TFA.

White and clean nests. RH% control, movement of air, Vent-hole management are few of the many factors that influence the cleanliness of the nests.
The Hi-Nest amplifier produces excellent Swiftlet sound of Gs-9 and Hypnotic . Combined with Love Potion, How can Swiftlet resist to build nests? This is one of the secrets to boost up nests number and bird population. Those who have been following my advice knew what I mean.
HI-Nest TX20 internal Tweeters.
Second Entrance hole with GS18 tweeters to attract Swiftlets to fly into the Nesting areas.
Some extra stock of HI-Nest GS 18 for standby and future use. (As usual always sold out...my apologies).
