After years of research and development, finally, we managed to produce a Tweeter that could transmit Swiftlet frequency to its optimum level. In order words, swiftlet sounds that are in different pitches ( frequency) that can't be heard from normal tweeters, now can be heard clearly. Thanks to the material and components that make up this tweeter and the idea of wanting Swiftlets to stay fast.
Not all Tweeters are made the same and not all are able to transmit all Swiftlet sounds.
The HI-NEST GS18 is made and designed to transmit all Swiftlets sounds. When all Swiftlet sounds are transmitted perfectly and can be heard by all Swiftlets it would encourage them to stay fast and to build nests.
The "Fast Stay Technique" attracts new Swiftlets that came to play at the Entrance hole to fly deeper into the Nesting areas. Throughout my years of experience and observation, not all Swiftlets that came and play would stay and build nests. Often the sounds from the Tweeters are unable to attract them because they are not made for Swiftlet frequency.
When I do remix and recording Swiftlet sounds, often more than 20 different Swiftlet sounds and pitches are inserted into that song eg: Adult female sounds, adult male sounds, young swiftlet sounds, female heat sounds, courting sounds, laying eggs sounds, entering and maneuvering sounds ( sound that Swiftlets made when they enter the farm and nesting areas), perching sound, babies craving sounds, babies feeding sounds, roosting sounds, playing at entrance hole sounds and many more, the list could go on.
Not all the above-mentioned sounds could be transmitted out if the Tweeters are not tuned to Swiftlet frequency. You could still hear the Swiftlet sounds but not a complete one. Perhaps only 4-6 different sounds could be transmitted out. Most farmers could not differentiate or detect how many Swiftlet sounds have been transmitted out.
With that limitation, Swiftlets are not willing to fly deeper into the nesting area. As a result, it would take a longer time for them to stay and to make nests. They just come and play and fly away.
Let's take a look at the HI-NEST GS 18 tweeter. Why the HI-NEST GS 18 tweeter is different from the others. The specification and sound frequency tuned was designed by me. I requested it to be made this way. The manufacturers were shocked when I rejected all their tweeter samples. They said this is what they had been supplying to the market all this while. I told them, this not what I am looking for "this is not what the Swiftlets wanted".
HI-NEST GS18 tweeter is using the best material possible. The back cover is made of ABS material. The amazing mechanical properties of ABS are resistance, toughness, strength and rigidity properties. Why do we need such things for a Swiftlet farm Tweeter?
When the sound wave hits the wall of the solid and rigid ABS back cap it would bounce better (like a combustion) thus creating a higher quality sound. Plastic materials tend to absorb sound and they don't bounce back well, they slow down the rebound thus creating a lower quality sound.
Due to the ABS strength, you could confidently screw them onto the plank without worrying of breaking like plastic.
It withstands heat better, (resists high temperature) the back cover won't melt easily when soldering capacitors, unlike plastic material unpleasant smell emitted that will stay with the Tweeters thus it takes longer time for birds to perch on the tweeters. ( Swiftlets dislike the smell emitted from plastic)
It can be easily differentiated. The Matt finishing is HI-NEST GS18. The shiny one on the left is made of plastic material. You could identify it by the shines on the tweeter.
HI-NEST GS 18 is using a 27mm copper plate. Where the other one is using a 22mm plate. It can be seen from the picture above.
The size of the copper plate can be differentiated easily. The paper cone material is called "paper wafer" HI-NEST GS18 is using a thicker and better quality paper wafer. As we know better material..like ABS, larger Copper coil, thicker wafer paper, etc all these would push up the cost of production of HI-NEST GS18.
But to my surprise, the plastic ones which are using cheaper materials and have a lower cost of production are selling a much higher price than the HI-NEST GS18 ...could you believe that. That is why 90% swiftlet farm failed. That figure would remain the same many years to come and it will never change. If people still so ignorant.
Thicker paper wafer wouldn't wear off easily. Most tweeters would spoil after 2 - 3 months. On the average 30 -50 % tweeters spoilt or lost their loudness within 1 year. Most tweeters in the market are not made for Swiftlet farm use. They were designed for Hi-fi system, car audio to name few. They were repacked and rebranded for the Swiftlet farming industry. Not surprised they wear out within weeks as they are not made for Swiftlet farm use which runs for 24 hours 7 days a week non-stop whole year round.
When the sound is played the Paper wafer vibrated thus creating sounds. It moves and vibrates millions of times. The thin paper wafer will wear out first and lose its elasticity. Noting this and thru my years of Swiftlet farming experience, I want something that could last longer, therefore we opted for a thicker paper wafer. Most producers wouldn't want this as it would increase the production cost, furthermore, when it spoilt people would buy again isn't that good for the producer?
There is a curved line on the edge of the Paper wafer of the HI-NEST GS 18. The purpose is to stiffen the Paper wafer so it wouldn't soften over time and has a longer lifespan. This curved line also helps the Paper wafer to sit perfectly on the back cap. Unlike the plastic type as you could see the Paper wafer is moving towards the left. It moves around when it vibrates. It is not seated in the middle of the back cap as compared to HI-Nest Gs18 tweeter. It would affect the sound quality.
The sound quality of the HI-NEST GS18 tweeter is so good that you could hear every different sound pitches in detail.
Get one and compare them with other Tweeters you will hear the difference.
Good Swiftlet farming All.
