DIY Bazooka with PVC Pipe

For those who are keen on DIY here is how you can make a Bazooka tweeter yourself. I have been making this type of tweeter for most of my farms and I find it very effective in attracting Swiftlets especially young Swiftlets.

Secondly it would save money. The cost is less than a fraction of those Ready-made Bazookas. Best of all you could tailor the length and size according to what you want. It is very easy to make. Its only takes few minute to make one.

You could choose whatever tweeters you like to be placed inside the DIY Bazooka. For me, I would prefer a good quality tweeter.

There are few things you need, PVC pipe, PVC End cap, Tweeter and wire. There many type of PVC Pipe quality. I would prefer the thick one which has better sound rebounding.

At the end of one side cut 45dg, this is to prevent rain water from going into the pipe. As we know the DIY Bazooka is to be placed at 45dg towards the sky.

Drill holes at the bottom of the end cap for wiring and rain water to flow out during heavy down pour.

At the mouth (45dg side) use some steel wire to tight them cross over to prevent young Swiftlets from trapping inside the DIY Bazooka.

In fact I call it a dead trap for Swiftlets . Many years back a good friend of mind (Sees Seng of KT) put a DIY Bazooka at his window after couple of days he discovered few dead birds inside the pipe. He didn’t put any wire or net at the Bazooka mouth.

After completed you could use Steel plate (with holes) to hold the DIY Bazooka onto the walls. Best attach it to an Amplifier playing HYNOTIC sound and you could see birds swapping into your farm like bees.

Recommend to be used in areas of sound war especially for new and old farms if it wants to attract young birds.

Also for farms that want to attract Swiftlets from far as the sound from this DIY Bazooka could easily reach 500 meter.

A good micro consists of stable temperature and humidity, good quality of internal sound, good aroma and so on.

If the farm has more combinations of the above then chances are the farm would be successful in a very short period of time. Often many farms have either one or none of the above combinations.

Let’s look at the later which is the Aroma & Sound combination. It is common to see birds hanging on the internal tweeters especially when a good internal sound is played. But this doesn’t mean that they will build nests on top of the tweeters or around the tweeters.

Often after couple of days or weeks they will leave, this indicates they dislike the micro .By studying the dried dropping it could tell how well or bad the farm would perform in near future.

For new farms the smell of cement, wood (nesting planks, using unsuitable wood.),etc prevent Swiftlets from making nests. They are very sensitive to all these construction and material smell. Therefore new farms often take 6 months or more in order to have the first nests. In some cases it may take longer perhaps years.

By 6 months or more (depend on the materials used) the smell of the construction and material should subside. By then we would have wasted ½ year or more. In order to reduce the time wasted of 6 months or more, one of the ways is to use Aroma to dispel off the construction and material smell.

Many of my readers sprayed Love Potion in their farms to dispel unwanted smell. For those successful farms they spray Love potion after every harvest to boost up nest growth. It helps to reduce the human odor in the farm. During harvesting we sweat dam a lot, our body produce the odor that disliked by birds. Imagine spending hours in farms, how much our body odor polluted the micro of the farms?

So it is a must to use Aroma to dispel of this unpleasant odor if we want the bird’s population to keep on growing. I am sure many of you have heard of farmers complaining that every harvest their yields are reducing and they couldn’t find solution to this problem. It‘s to do with human odor pollution. I hope they know.

Besides that many of my reader also sprayed Love potion on top of the tweeters especially on those 4 ways DIY tweeters and most of them find the results astonishing.

Actually what they had done is practicing Aroma & Sound combination therapy which they didn’t notice. So the Aroma & Sound plays an important role here. Both have to work together. Once you get the right combination you would see good results.

The sound pulled the Swiftlets to a particular area and the Love Potion smell encourages them to stay and make nests.

When spraying Love Potion on Planks, Corner boards and Tweeters make sure to turn the Nozzle of the spray pump to MIST spray.

As we know 90% of planks in all farms are of poor grade Meranti. Any excessive of Humidity or water it would cause fungus and mould to grow.

The 4 ways DIY tweeters is very effective but make sure the internal sound use is of good quality too.

Huge Swiftlet Farm in the East Coast

I am getting busier and busier, my apology for not updating my blog. I am travelling very often and most of the time reaching home late please bear with me.

Few weeks ago I was in The East Coast setting up the sound system of a standalone farm. Believe me, this is a huge farm. The owner has a vision for the future therefore he planned for such size.

It is a 50 x 150 ft , 4 storey farm. I could say this is going to be one of those big farms in the East coast. The farm takes about 6 months to complete. I anticipated the sound should be switched on by end of July if everything goes smooth.

I had personally done a Birds Test and survey on this area last year and the result is promising. With such good result the owner immediately starts the construction works.

The owner is very ambitious and very confident about this farm. In fact this is his 1^st farm.

It is located in a very good environment for Swiftlet Farming. There are huge rivers around this farm with plenty of greenery.

The sound system was specially set up to accommodate the design and the location of the farm. The placement of the tweeters and all wiring that linked to the Amplifiers are pre-calculated. There is even a special control room for the sound system. We are taking about 7500sf per floor.

For such huge farm it is not easy to manage the sound system and I am making sure the sound will reach all areas of the farm with stable tune of frequency.

This would very much influence the birds to fly into the without fear.” Bigger the farm bigger the effort and bigger the task”.
