我的一名讀者，自從2008年以來一直使用Love Potion，過了這麽多年突然打了個電話給我。很久沒有聽到他的消息了。現在他要我救他。真是好奇怪，他看到他的燕屋農場有很大幅的改善，但是他卻把他在做的東西停下來。最糟糕的是他的毛病，他喜歡聽那些他認為是師父的人......從一個快要成功的燕屋農場變成一個失敗的燕屋農場。以下是我們的談話。

"嗨James，你好嗎?"

"嗨 大衛...很久沒有聽到你的消息了。你怎麼了?"你的燕屋農場怎麼樣了?"。

"一般...一般啦...James...一點都不好"。

為什麼是一般一般而以......？我還以為在幾年前已經做的不錯了，當時我參觀了您的燕屋農場，而您是Love Potion熱心使用者之一，如果我沒記錯您是在2009年僅僅是靠Love Potion和2010年您的燕屋農場已經有超過170個燕窩了...和我想現在它應該已經達到幾千個燕窩了吧...哈哈...哈...你一定是一個幸運和快樂的人"。

"沒有James...不是這樣的......現在只有140個燕窩"。

"哦......不會吧。這是一個災難...為什麼呢？到底是什麼出了錯？爲什麽燕窩減少？我沒有聽到你的消息從2011年到現在，看來你好像從2011年到現在沒有買過Love Potion。我以為你一定是做得很好，所以並不需要Love Potion了"。

"James真正的我必須承認，我停止使用Love Potion因爲聼了一些師父和朋友的意見。我被要求使用他們的香氣和其他燕子的聲音。最初有很多的燕子來玩，但是後來燕子逐漸越來越少。我問他們下一步應該做什麽，他們的答覆是等待...啦...想要成功必須要等待。在等待之後，他們再次介紹我用另外一種不同類型的香氣，他們聲稱這是非常著名的，使用之後我等了又等。這次我看到更加少的燕窩。我感到很沮喪和停下聽他們的話，然後我去了賣養燕器材的商店自己尋找香氣...這次我再次試用了另外一種香氣，店主聲稱這是其中一個最好的香氣，但是使用了這次之後它變得更將糟糕。不但沒有看到新的燕子屎而且燕窩的數目減少到140多個。總共在這2年我曾試過不少過9個類型的香氣。我承認我是個傻瓜"。

"不要這樣說，大衛，每個人都會犯錯，但是在你的情況下你不應該聽別人的。眼見為實，因為用了Love Potion你的燕屋農場已經顯示了一個健康的增加，你應該堅持用下去。你已經看到了和自己目睹到了。所以為什麼要換其他的香氣呢？無論如何怎麼可以幫到你"。

"James, 我想要訂購一些Love Potion。你有貨嗎?"

"是的，我有貨...而且這是新的第三代Love Potion。大衛，為什麼你突然決定要再次使用Love Potion呢？你對您試過的香氣都感到厭倦了嗎?"

這樣的事情整天都在發生。人們縂是有傾向要擺脫他們經歷過好的東西。也許他們不夠鋒利和經驗來決定什麼是好的和壞的。通常這是一個昂貴的教訓和時間是不能夠用錢買的。

WHY STOP DOING THE GOOD THING

A reader of mine who had been using Love Potion for since 2008, suddenly call me after many years. I have not heard from him for a long time. Now he wants my rescue. It is kind a weird, he sees drastic improvement in his farm but he stopped doing what he had done. Worst of all he likes to listen to those he believes Sifus…from here once a going to be successful farm turned into a failed farm soon. Below is our conversation.

“ Hi James, how are you?”

“ Hi David ….. it has been a long time since I heard from you. How have you been?” How is your Swiftlet farm doing?”.

“ So..so lah James…not good at all”.

Why so..so..only? I thought it was doing pretty good few years back when I visited your farms and you were one of those avid user of Love Potion….if I could remember you started in 2009 solely relied on Love potion and in 2010 your farm has more than 170 nests..and I suppose now it has reached few thousand nests already ..ha..ha.. you must be one lucky and happy guy”.

“No James.. not really … only 140 nests now”.

“Oh..no. That is a disaster..  why?  What’s gone wrong? How could the nests decreased? I haven’t heard from you since 2011 and it seems you never bought Love Potion since 2011. I thought you must have done well and don’t need Love potion anymore”.

“ James sincerely I must admit, I stopped  using Love Potion on the advice of some Sifus and Friends. I was asked to use their Aromas and  other Swiftlet sounds. Initially lots of Birds came then gradually less and less birds. I asked them what should I do next, their replies were wait..lah..want to be successful must wait. After  waiting they again introduced me another different types of aroma which they claimed very famous, after using I waited again. This time I see fewer nests. I was frustrated and stopped listening to them and went to a Swiftlet equipment shop and scout for aromas myself..here again I tried out another aroma which claimed by the seller as one of the best but this time after using it became even worse. Not only I see no new bird shit but the number of nests reduced to 140 plus. All in total I had tried not less than 9 types of aroma in that 2 years plus. I admit I am a fool.”

“Don’t say that David, everyone makes mistakes but in your case you should have not simply listened to anyone. Seeing is believing since your farm had showed a  healthy increase with Love Potion and you should stick with it. You had seen and witnessed it yourself. So why switching to other Aromas? Anyway  how may I help you”.

“ James  I want to order some Love Potion. Do you have stock?”

“ Yes I do have stock….the New 3^rd Generation Love Potion. David, why suddenly you decided to use Love Potion again? You got fed-up with those Aromas you had tried?”

“ Yes  James….I will never use them again. I trust Love Potion… but my ears are very light one. One and a half month ago my uncle from Jerantut visited me. I showed him my farm and hope he could give me some tips to  improve my farm. He said he knew you well.”

“Emmm…emmm..your uncle never  mind..ok..ok.

“ He had a half bottle of Love potion with him in his car the NEW 3^RD GENERATION  one. He gave it to me. I just sprayed like before…believe me today I went and see there are more than 20 new nest markings. I have not seen that for many years. I am damn excited. I have never had this feeling for a long time. Thank you James. That is why I am calling you..I hope you don’t mind. I know myself I am the one to be blamed. I just have the tendency to switch and test out things and listen to people. Now my farm has become a guinea-pig. James I learned my lesson well”.

“It is ok….you are not alone. There are many out there shared the same character like you.They just like their farms to be guinea-pig”.

“James could you send Love Potion as soon as possible. Will want to spray again this weekend.

“ Ok David,  I shall send Love  Potion to you Asap.  Should you have any question please call me”.

It happens all the times. People just have the tendency to move away from the good things that they had experienced. Perhaps they are not sharp and experience enough to decide what is good and bad. Often it is an expensive lesson and time cannot be bought with money.

Here is an interesting Internal Tweeter. It is specially designed and made with a cover for the front of the Tweeter mouth. (The front cover is removable). This idea derived from seeing birds, especially young birds hanging on Internal tweeters enjoy the Internal sound.

We had previously used Fake nests, Plastic nesting some even put Paper clips, etc. All served the same purposes of attracting birds to hang there and hopefully later they would build nests.

But those Plastics nests and Paper clip do not produce sound. It would take a longer time for birds to build nests right above those clips and fake nests. Therefore, Fake nests and Paper clips are advised to be placed closest as possible to the Tweeters.

It is evident that a good Internal sound play an important role in nest building as  most birds like hanging on Tweeter and the areas around Tweeters.

The P-9 Internal sound is sought-after by many who wanted fast nests growth. After using the P-9 Internal sound they could see an increase in nests and bird population. One farmer told me " James, now I see all birds clinging on the internal Tweeters. Before this,  they were clinging at the Planks. The P-9 internal sound is Ho-Liow".

The behavioral of birds hanging on Tweeter shows hypnotization process is taking place. Birds do memorize the sound. They hang there for hours...after leaving the farm for food and they return they would continue to hang on the same tweeter. Birds from others farm that fly in your farm would do the same.

They fly into a new farm and set for Tweeters that produced good internal sound and hang there. If the internal sound could attract them they will return and eventually make this farm their permanent home. This is an ongoing process of enticing new birds. If the Internal sound is not attractive or the same sound has been used by many farms in that area, then the hypnotization process won't work well and has no effect.

I had always told my readers duplicating sound through copy or paste from the computer is making the sound more available in the market. You will be surprised that your neighbor's farm and many more farms around your area is using the same sound as you.

Isn't it now all are identical? So what makes you think that your farm could attract more birds than they?  Birds look for a farm that is a standout in term of micro control that includes Sound.

Therefore, all the sounds I produced are not 100% identical, and it is not 100% duplicate through a copy from the computer. Every each sound my readers received is of genuine remixed. I am making sure they don't share the same sound. (* There are some remixes in the sound purposely added in to make it different for the purpose of hypnotisation*)

Use a good Internal sound  with this Tweeter. You would see nests built on the Tweeters.

另外一個DIY的方法來防止貓頭鷹和其它捕食動物 Another DIY Technique to Prevent Owls and Predators

這裡是另一種DIY的技術，你可以在你的燕屋農場中使用。它已被很多燕屋農場證明和測試。它真的可以嚇走捕食動物。

要在入口洞裏放尖利的釘子不如您想象那麽容易。通常它需要錘擊和鑽洞。

通常會是用釘子，把它們釘在一塊木頭上，放在入口洞，來防止貓頭鷹和其他捕食動物棲息或站在入口洞。

但是那些釘子的末端是不夠鋒利來傷害那些捕食動物，所以是無法嚇跑它們的。

我想與大家分享最簡單的方法，把鋒利的釘子放在入口洞。無需要錘擊和鑽洞。明顯地，也不會在你口袋裡燒個大洞。

我使用了螺絲，因為它是比釘子廉價和鋒利。它們是很容易和方便地與工作的。它會持續很長的時間，和大多數的螺絲都是塗上一層漆的(防銹處理)。入口洞是一個暴露在陽光下和雨的地方，所以釘子容易生銹因爲它是沒有被處理過的...

我使用的是3-4"黑色鎖木的螺絲和用Epoxy把它們黏上。可以很方便地在五金店買得到。如果你找不到它們，可以打電話給我012-317 3811。（我有供應）

Araldite Epoxy是被建議使用的。我試過很多類型的Epoxy，但是其他的都不想Araldite一樣強烈和持久。它們在長時間的暴露在陽光和雨下的惡化。Araldite Epoxy是抵抗化學和紫外線的。建議把兩部分混合使用。千萬不要使用單個部分的膠粘劑。

這個DIY最佳的部分是你可以盡量的使用螺絲（釘子）如你所願。沒有人會阻止你。可以放它們在入口洞，或其他的地方，你覺得捕食動物會棲息或站的地方。

在黏上螺絲之前把表面弄乾淨。

你需要的東西是，一盒螺絲（100枚）和2包Araldite Epoxy。當然，也需要一些努力和汗水。

Another DIY Technique to Prevent Owls and Predators

Here is another DIY technique you could use in your Swiftlet farm. It has been proven and tested in many Swiftlets farms. It really scares away Predators.

Putting sharp spikes at the entrance hole is not as easy as you may think. Often hammering and drilling is needed.

Nails are often used, they are hammered into a piece of wood and placed at the entrance hole to prevent Owl and other predators from perching or standing at the entrance hole.

But their sharp ends are not sharp enough to hurt  predators thus making it ineffective to scaring them away.

I would like to share  with you the simplest way to put sharp spikes at the entrance hole. No hammering and drilling are needed. Obviously no burning a big hole in your pocket.

I use screws as they are cheap and sharper than nails. They are easy and convenient to work with. It will last a long time, and most screws are coated with paint (treated anti-rust). Entrance hole is an area that is exposed to the sun and rain nails get rusty easily as they are not treated..

I use the 3-4”  black wood screw and stick them with Epoxy  They are easily available at hardware shops. If you cannot find them, call me at 012-317 3811. (I do supply them)

Araldite epoxy is recommended.  I have tried many types of epoxy all of them are not as strong and lasting as Araldite. They deteriorate over a long period of exposing under the sun and the rain. Araldite epoxy is resistant to chemical and UV. A two part mix epoxy is recommended. Never use single part adhesive.

The best part of this DIY  you could put as many screws (spikes) as you wish. Nobody is going to stop you. They can be placed at the entrance hole as well as at all other areas or places which you think predators would perch or stand.

Clean the surface of the area before sticking the screws.

Things that you need, a box of screws (100pcs) and 2 packs of Araldite epoxy. Of course, also with some effort and sweat.

陷阱用強鋼絲被綁在籠子的上面。籠子四個邊用木板蓋著以便如老鷹可以集中和只有從上邊攻擊，因爲陷阱是在上面。

幾天大的小雞被放在籠子裡。籠子裏面擺放食物和水給小雞吃。它應該至少可以維持3天。

把陷阱置放在環繞去，因為這是老鷹最喜歡埋伏的地方。

每隔2-3天來檢查陷阱。老鷹經常在午夜期間攻擊。

夜鷹陷阱 NIGHT HAWKS TRAPPED

在過去的幾個月它們一直在恐嚇那些小燕子而沒有被發現。因爲它有純粹的速度可以潛入燕屋農場裏的入口洞，而沒有被閉路電視發覺到它們。比貓頭鷹還小，比老鷹還要狡猾，它們的存在不容易被發覺到除了觀察它們留下的痕跡。

只是一個晚上，2只夜鷹被使用致命的誘餌和陷阱系統抓到了。它們不站在電杆上或入口洞像貓頭鷹，因此要觀察它們的存在是很難的。

夜鷹比貓頭鷹的威脅還來的大。它們在半空中攻擊獵物。更好的機動，較小的體型和它的速度燕子更本沒有逃生的機會。

T先生的燕子數量在過去的幾個月内並沒有增加。他沒有看到任何的貓頭鷹飛入他的燕屋農場。過去的2周內，他一直在檢查閉路電視系統的記錄，但是它沒有顯示任何入侵者的影子。他是很有信心，他的燕屋農場是沒有被捕食動物攻擊，一直到誘餌和陷阱系統被安置在他的燕屋農場。

這個陷阱是類似我上次寫的那個，那個使用的是老鼠膠水來黏那些掠食動物。

但是這個熊陷阱是更加致命...無處可逃的。

A Closer Look at the Hawk Trap

This is an email I received from my reader. I think he is facing predator problem. He wants to know how this 

Trap works.

Hi James,

Regarding this topic, may I know how you set up this trap ?

What should I prepare to make this trap and  where to put them so that I could catch these 

hawks?

I know this hawk always flying and attack  swiftlets in the air.

It is very difficult to catch it. But I see your trap is working and hopefully can learn from you.

Above is the picture of the trap.  Bear trap is hard to find here but I managed to get them.( Those who want the Bear trap may contact me).

The Trap is tied onto the top of the cage with strong wire. Four sides of the cage are covered with wood so as the Hawk could focus and attack from the top where the Trap is placed.

A few days old chick is put inside the cage. Food and water are placed inside the cage for the chick. It should last at least 3 days.

Place trap in the roving area as this is the favorite place Hawks ambush.

Check trap every 2-3 days. Hawks often attack during midnight.

NIGHT HAWKS TRAPPED

They have been terrorizing the Swiftlet farm for months without being noticed. With its sheer speed of diving  into the entrance hole,  the CCTV cannot detect them. Smaller than Owl slicker and faster than Eagle  their presence cannot be detected other than observing the  traces  they had left behind.

In just one night, 2 Night Hawks were caught using the deadly bait and trap system. They don’t stand on poles or at the entrance hole like Owls, therefore observating their presence is difficult.

The Night Hawk is the biggest threat comparing to Owl. They attack preys in the air. Better maneuver, smaller in size and with speed Swiftlets have no chance to escape.

Mr.T Swiftlet farm Bird population has not increased for many months. He didn’t see any Owl flying into his farm. For the past 2 weeks,  he had been checking the recording of the CCTV, but it shows no shadow of any intruder. He is very confident his farm is clear of predator attacks  until the bait and trap system was placed in his farm.

The Bear trap is tied onto  a mouse cage. A small chick is put inside the cage to attract the Hawk. With the live chick moving in the cage it attracts  Hawk or any predator in the farm.

It is similar to the one that I had written about which is using mouse glue to stick the predators.

But this Bear trap is more deadly….no escape.
