DIY假燕窝 - 沙爹支的秘密 DIY ARTIFICIAL NEST - SATAY STICK SECRET

人們經常在他們的新燕屋农场安裝假燕窝来鼓勵年輕的燕子做燕窝。現在有這麼多類型的假燕窝，你可以買現成的或者是自己動手做。

那裡是由軟塑胶、 矽、 硬塑膠等等做成的。或者你可以自己動手做由纸皮、 發泡膠、 木板等等。全部都是有共同的目标，就是鼓勵小燕子在假燕窝上做燕窝，因此增加燕窝人口。

但是它們有自己的優點和缺點。新做的燕窝在假燕窝上往往是更薄和更小。它失去了其燕窝的價值。有時后它是如此的淡薄它的重量只有满杯的1/4的重量。如果你的新燕屋农有許多這些假燕窝那么燕窝的价格是嚴重受到影響的。

其次，做在發泡膠上，紙上，纸皮上的燕窝等等有更多的問題。發泡膠或紙很容易粘到燕窝。

这么多年來，我已經注意到這個問題。我想要一些類似假燕窝但是却沒有假燕窝的缺點。沒有小而薄的燕窝，沒有假燕窝的材料粘在燕窩上，类似假燕窝但它不會影響被造在它的燕窝形狀。

我想出了使用沙爹支的想法。最好的是它們是很便宜和容易獲得。沙爹支被訂在木板上。一旦燕窝建在沙爹枝上我向你保證這是肯定滿滿一个燕窝。

這個秘密和花招是把沙爹枝浸泡在Love Potion一晚然后才把它們安裝到木板上。我用釘槍來做這項工作。安装在离角落處1尺的地方。安装了之后再噴上一些Love Potion在沙爹支上，只是按一次就夠好了。

現在我許多學生也是這樣做的。採用這个想法後, 從其新的燕屋農場收割的第一次燕窩，是滿滿一杯。沒有更薄和更小的燕窝。

燕子是聰明的鳥类。它們只使用唾液作燕窝。唾液被由耳朵下的腺低产生的。它們只是產生足夠數量的唾液来做燕窝建設和沒有白白浪費。不同于其他鸟类，它們收集樹枝、 樹葉等等来做窝，經常這些材料有很多，到處都是。因此，如果安裝了一個杯形的假燕窝那么燕子不會盡努力做一個更大的燕窝。

DIY ARTIFICIAL NEST - SATAY STICK SECRET

People often install artificial nests in their new Swiftlet farms to encourage young birds to build nests. There are so many types of artificial nests now, you could buy the ready made ones or DIY.

There are made of soft rubber, silicon, hard plastic,etc. Or you could DIY it from card board, Styrofoam, wood,etc. All served one purpose to encourage young birds to build nests on them

thus increases birds population. 

But they have their pros and cons. New nests built on artificial nests are often thin and small. It loses its nest value. Sometimes it is so thin it weights only 1/4 of a full cup nest. If you have many of these artificial nests in your farm then the nest value is badly affected. 

Secondly, nests build on Styrofoam, paper, card board, etc have more problems. The Styrofoam or paper is easily stuck to the nests.

Over the years I had noticed this problem. I want something that is similar to the artificial nests but without the cons. No small and thin nests, no artificial nests materials sticking onto the nests, something similar to artificial nests but it won't affect the shape of the nests that built on them.

I came out with an idea of using Satay stick. Best of all they are cheap and easily available. The Satay stick is stapled onto the plank. Once nests are built on them I assure you  it is going to be a full cup nest.

The secret and the trick is to soak them into Love Potion over night and install them onto the planks . I use a staple gun to do the job. Install them  1 feet from the corner. After that spray some Love potion on them, just one burst is good enough.

Now many of my students are doing the same. After adopting this idea, their first harvest of nests from their new swiftlets farms are of full cup nests. No more thin and small nests.

Swiftlets are smart bird. They build their nests only using saliva. The saliva is produced from a gland below their ears. They only produce a sufficient amount of saliva for the nest building and none go to waste. Unlike other birds where they collect twig,leaves,etc to build nests often these materials are plenty and could be found everywhere. Therefore if an artificial nest of a cup shape is installed then the Swiftlets wouldn't make an effort to build a bigger nest.

他從我的部落格学会的。他做得很好。他可以從市場买一个，由不銹鋼製成，但是他却喜欢DIY它。对他来说這个DIY的六角形高音喇叭是比那些在市場上由不銹鋼製成的更好。

原因......? 安全，更耐用，保護燕屋農場的設備和非常便宜。

對許多人來說所有的六角形高音喇叭都是相同的，但是对少数人来说它是完全不同。

為什麼DIY六角形高音喇叭是更好(在所有方面)与那些不锈鋼的比较。顯然，成本是主要因素之一。买一个不銹鋼的六角形高音喇叭的价钱或許你可以做10-15个DIY六角形高音喇叭，看看你使用哪種類型的高音喇叭而已。最好的是DIY六角形高音喇叭具有更好的優點。

铁屬、不銹鋼、鋁等等，都是导電的良導體。当安裝在燕屋農場最高端的地方它會吸引閃電。閃電擊中良導體材料才能到達地球。它是很危險的，它會浪費你很多金钱，因为它可能損害整個燕屋農場里的電器系統和設備。

我經常有讀者問我為什麼他們的高音喇叭，放大器，交流/直流轉換器等都不耐用。以上的都是他們應該考慮的原因之一。

DIY的六角形高音喇叭可以比任何在市場上的六角形高音喇叭来的耐用由於其使用的DIY材料。

DIY的六角形高音喇叭的頂部由塑膠製成。塑膠不是导電的良導體，因此使用了塑膠託盤。至於其杆，我的一些學生正在使用高壓力PVC管，是厚的那种。他們找到最厚那种。DIY的六角形高音喇叭是很轻的(塑膠)不像不銹鋼一样因而PVC杆管可以支持它。

鑽一個洞在託盤上。洞的大小適合PVC杆管，然后使用2个夹掏，上面和下面擰緊它。它會抓紧託盤或者您可以使用一些PVC膠水來加強它。正如你可以看到所有使用的材料都是電的不良導體。

現在你可以清楚地看到為什麼這種DIY的六角形高音喇叭是更加優越。它是所有歸結為清楚地瞭解燕屋農場，常識、 經驗等等。

可悲的是，現在許多燕屋農場的產品在市場上是驅动于“金錢動機"。生產者和制作者都不是燕屋主，而是生意人。他們(10个有8個)都不擁有燕屋農場。很多根本沒有養燕的基本認識。

它不是令人驚訝的是，你知道的可能比他們多。

去DIY一个。材料需要: 1) 塑膠託盤 2) Hi-Nest GS18高音喇叭4-6个. 3) 木或塑膠的"L"夹掏来抓紧高音喇叭。

DIY HEXAGONAL TWEETERS by MY STUDENTS

( Using HI-NEST GS-18 Tweeters)

These pictures are from one of my students from Vietnam. He made  this  DIY Hexagonal Tweeter for his Swiftlet farm which locates at the Southern Part of Vietnam.

He learned it from my blog. He did a good job. He could just buy one from the market, which is made of Stainless Steel but prefer to DIY it. For him this DIY Hexagonal Tweeter is  better that those available in the market which are made of Stainless Steel. 

Reason................?   Safety, last longer, protects farm equipment and dirt cheap.

For many people all  Hexagonal Tweeters are the same, but to few there are totally different. 

Why the DIY Hexagonal Tweeter is better (in all aspects) than those S,steel ones. Obviously cost is one of the main factors. With the money you spend on the S.steel one you could make perhaps 10-15 DIY Hexagonal Tweeters depends on what type of tweeters you are using. Best of all the DIY Hexagonal Tweeter has better advantages.

Metal , Stainless steel , Aluminium, etc  are good conductor of electricity. When installed at the highest point of the farm it attracts lightning. Lightning strikes  good conductor material to reach the earth. It is very dangerous and it would cost you a lot more when it damages the whole Swiftlet farm electrical system and equipment.

I often have readers asking questions why theirs Tweeters, Amplifiers, AC/DC converters,etc don't last long. And the above is one of the reasons they should look into.

The DIY Hexagonal Tweeter outlast any hexagonal tweeter on the market due to its DIY material used.

The DIY Hexagonal Tweeter' top is made of plastic . Plastic is a poor conductor of electricity therefore plastic trays are used. As for the pole, some of my students are using the hi-pressure  PVC pipe, the thick one. The thickest they could find. The DIY Hexagonal Tweeter is light (plastic) unlike the S.Steel one thus the PVC pipe could support it.

Drill a hole on the tray. The size of the hole fits the PVC pipe and use 2 sockets, top and bottom to  tighten it. It would hold the tray tightly or you may use some PVC glue to strengthen it. As you could see all materials used are poor conductor of electricity.

Now you could clearly see why this DIY Hexagonal Tweeter is superior. It is all boiled down to a clear understanding of Swiftlet farming, common sense,experiences,etc.

Sadly, many  Swiftlet farming products in the market now are driven by "money motivated". People who made them, produce them are not Swiftlet farmer they are businessman. Many of them (8 out of 10) don't own Swiftlet farm. Many don't have the basic understanding of Swiftlet farming.

It is not surprising that you may know more than them.































Go and DIY one. Material need:  1) Plastic tray 2) Hi-Nest GS18 tweeters. 4-6 units.3) wood or plastic "L" channel to hold the tweeters.

這些照片都是在波德申，森美蘭州旅行的時候拍攝到的。照片會告訴千余個故事只要你知道如何解釋它們。為了做到這一點，你需要有經驗和非常敏捷的頭腦。你需要有能力看到其他人看不到的东西。 要不然燕屋農場只是燕屋農場，無差異。

你知不知道燕屋農場的外面能告訴故事。它能告訴你这个特定的燕屋農場是否成功或者糟糕。

我敢打賭，你們中許多人從未想過的。通過從燕屋農場的外部觀察，能知道裡面是什麼。精准度可高達70%。為此，你必須具備一些非凡的技巧。好讓我帶领你，告訴你如何可以做到。

從燕屋農場的外部有很多東西你可以觀察到的，我可不想透露太多的事情。它是不公平公開太多關於他們的事情。

1) 4 層楼的商店单位，完全被轉換成燕屋農場。单单看它的設計很有趣的是每個单位都是由不同的人或顧問所建立的。我選擇在這 4间燕屋農場發表評論，因為它們是獨特的，因為它們有不同的入口洞，都是由不同的人建立的。

2) 從觀察，那個有狗洞的燕屋農場肯定是做得很好。為什麼呢?....因為它從未做任何改變。其中兩個燕屋農場已經從狗洞改为開放屋頂。一個從狗洞改到開放屋頂，再改到窗口類型。為什麼要改入口洞，如果燕子口在增加，並增加呢? 好吧，你明白我的意思了嗎?

3) 我如何知道他們開始的时候是狗洞呢? 如果你仔細看看，這整個4層楼的商店单位，有類似相同的外觀設計，這意味著它們最初被建造的时候是作為一排商店。

4) 狗洞是在樓梯間空氣流通的天井。使用棕色磚的燕屋農場使用它作為狗洞。而在它的左面的燕屋主把它變成一個開放屋頂式，但也使用天井为互连到燕屋農場。

5) 這兩個是先驅和後來其他的2间接着开。

6) 換句話說，其右邊2个燕屋農場都不做的那么好，相比在它左面的燕屋農場。為什麼呢?

7) 讓我們再一次觀察。我不是說它們是失敗的燕屋農場。他們可能收穫很多公斤的燕窝。但如果排比較我会說棕色磚的燕屋農場和在它的左面開放式屋頂的燕屋農場要好得多。

8) 為新手們，千萬別被通氣孔的数量而蒙蔽。排氣孔可能是從內部封閉。所以不要簡單地照搬。"複製貓"在燕屋農場是行不通的。

9) 在狗洞的上面和頂梁按上玻璃块。它表明兩件事，防止盜竊和食肉動物。

10) 只有成功的燕屋農場費心思去做這個。如果它是一個失敗的燕屋農場，為什麼要浪費時間和金錢來放玻璃块在狗洞呢? 結論，一定有許多燕窝在內。

有很多的事情，從它的外觀可以注意到，但我不能都在這裡透露。這不是很好。我認為這樣做它是不公平地。要善於觀察，你會注意到很多東西，其他人可能不能夠注意到。

做一些训练、 去你的燕屋農場然后从外面觀察看看可以看到什麼故事其告訴。

LEARN TO OBSERVE FROM OUTSIDE OF A SWIFTLET FARM

These pictures were taken while I was traveling to P.Dickson, Negeri Sembilan. The pictures would tell thousand tales only when you know how to interpret them. In order to do that, you need to have experience and a very sharp mind. You need to have the ability to see what other couldn't see.

Otherwise a Swiftlet farm is just Swiftlet farm, no differences.

Do you know the outside of a Swiftlet farm could tell tales. It could tell about how successful or how bad a particular Swiftlet farm is.

I bet many of you had never thought of that. By observing  from the exterior of a Swiftlet farm one could  know what is inside. The accuracy could be as high as 70%. In order to do that you must possess some extraordinary skill. Well let me lead you and show you how this could be done.

There're so many things that you could observe from the exterior of these farms, I wouldn't want reveal too many things. It is unfair to expose too many things about them. .

1) 4 storey shop lots, all had been converted into Swiftlet farms. By looking at the designs interestingly each was built by different people or consultants.I choose to comment on these 4 Swiftlet farms because they are unique as they have different Entrance holes and were built by different people.

2) From the observation the one with the Dog Kennel one must be doing very well. Why? ......because it had never changed. Two had changed, from Dog Kennel to open roof. One from Dog Kennel to Open roof, then to Window type. Why changed the Entrance hole if the population is growing and increasing? Well, do you get what I mean?

3) How do I know they started off with Dog Kennel?  Well if you look closely this whole block of  4 storey shop have similar exterior design which means they were originally built as one roll of shoplot.

4) The Dog Kennel is the air circulation well for the staircase. The Swiftlet farm with the brown bricks makes use of it as a Dog kennel. While on its left the owner turned it into a Open Roof, but also  using the Air well for birds to access to the farm.

5) These two were the pioneer and later the other 2 join in.

6) In other words the 2 on its right are  not doing that good compared to the other one on its left. Why?

7) Let's observe again. I am not saying that they are failed Swiftlet farms. They are probably harvesting many kgs of nests. But if compared side by side I would say the brown brick farm and the Open roof on its left  are doing much better. 

8) For Newbies, don't be fooled by the number of Vent-hole they have in these Swiftlet Farms. The Vent-holes are probably closed from inside. So don't simply copy. "Copy Cat" in Swiftlet farming will not work.

9) With  glasses places on top the Dog Kennel as well on the top beams. It indicates, two things, Prevent theft and Predators.

10) Only successful Swiftlet farms bother to do this.  If it is a failed farm, why waste time and money to put glasses on top of  the Dog Kennel? Conclusion....there must be many nests inside.

There are many things that I had observed from its exterior, but I can't expose them all here. It wouldn't be nice to do that . I think it is not fair to do so. Be observant you would notice lots of things which others may not able to notice.

Do some practices, go to your Swiftlet farm and observe from outside and see what tales its tells.

This video was recorded by my reader, Mr.L from Sibu, Sarawak.

He had never seen so many Swiftlets entering his Swiftlet farm before. After operating for more than 4 years this is what he witnessed. This type of Swiftlet activity is rare at his  farm. He is very excited and wanted to share his excitement with me, so he sent this video.

About a week ago he had bought a set of new External and Internal sound from me. It was from my new sound collection ( Dark-1) . He had also bought 4 Hinests amplifiers and few hundred Gs18 and Tx 20 tweeters. He wanted to change the entire sound system as he had lost faith in that system which was set-up by the one who had built his farm.

This is what happen when the whole Sound system was changed................. Extraordinary!

With the appropriate Sound system ( Hinest B-52 amplifier and Gs18 and Tx 20 tweeters ) coupled with the good External and Internal sound this is what you will see at your Swiftlet farm.

It is not impossible. It is waiting to happen. The only thing is that most Swiftlet farms don't have the right tools and equipment to attract them.

我會說，只要您的燕屋农场可以長期每個月提供你燕窝，你應該心存感激。

在這種情況下，燕屋农场的数量真的很重要。如果你有超過10家燕屋农场，顯然並不是所有的燕屋农场会產生相同的收获。有些可能是非凡的，而一些可能是普通的，但是10家燕屋农场加在一起每月的產量......這將是一个非常豐厚的收穫。

并不難要找到擁有超過幾家燕屋农场的燕屋主。經過我多年的參與在這個行業，我認識了許多燕屋主做的就是如此，收集的燕屋农场作為一個商業實體。

你肯定会問你自己。他們為什麼做這麼多的燕屋农场? 一些人要搞好一個成功的燕屋农场已經是如此具有挑戰性，何况要做好超過10家燕屋农场。答案很簡單，因為他們知道如何去做。

因此，有正確的技巧在這個行業是至關重要。隨著越來越多的人正在進入養燕你必須使你的燕屋农场突出從其他。

NESTS HARVESTING

These are the nests collected from one of my many Swiftlet farms. Each bag is about 2.5kg +/-. There are 3 and a half  bags. Total about 8kg plus. Is that good enough? Well it depends on individual expectation. To some it maybe very poor, for others it maybe average..

I would say,  as long your Swiftlet farms could give you nests every month you should be thankful. 

In this case the number of Swiftlet farm really counts. If you have more than 10 Swiftlet farms, obviously not all farms would yield the same result. Some could be extraordinary, and some could be average, but with the yield of  the 10  Swiftlet farms all  added together per month...that would be a very hefty harvest. 

It is not hard to find Swiftlet farmers that owned more than few Swiftlet farms. Through  my years of involvement in this industry  I have known many who did exactly that, accumulating Swiftlet farms as a business entity.  

So is the 8kg plus per month, per each Swiftlet farm is not good enough? It is barely a quarter compare to some of  my other Swiftlet farms which located in Perak. This one is located about 40 km from Kuala Lumpur.

You must be asking yourself. Why are they doing so many Swiftlet farms? To some making one successful Swiftlet farm is already so challenging what more to do more than 10. The answer is simple,  because they know how to do it. 

Therefore having the right  skill is vital in this industry. As more and more people are going into Swiftlet farming you must make your Swiftlet farms standout from the rest.
