Can Come in but No Way Out.

While building a farm in the North I happened to meet up with Mr. C who owned a Swiftlet farm few shops away from the building that I was renovating.

For almost 2 weeks of renovation I have observed he had visited his farm often on every other day. He walked over and asked whose farm I was building. From here I got to know him. He was a nice elderly fellow and wanted to make friend with me. He has started his farm 9 months ago till today there is no nest not a single one.

He didn’t know that I have a blog and I usually don’t expose it unless people recognize me. I keep low profile. I told him that I am building the farm for Mr.A . I guess he knows Mr.A too. He wants to know me perhaps he wants some tips from me to improve his farm since I am build one not far from his farm.

From here he got to know me and he always wanted to buy me lunch whenever he comes to visit his farm. I am sure he wants to learn things from me and I don’t mind to teach him provided I have got the time.. Sometimes I rejected his invitation because of my busy schedule. There was one meeting at lunch where he was so excited to express to me how he had discovered a way to keep Swiftlet in his farm. The reason being is that no swiftlets stayed in his farm so he decided to come out with a strategy.

“Mr.James, I found a way, a very unique way to make Swiftlet stay in my farm forever.”

“Oh Mr.C, that is very good. What unique way is that?”

“Mr. James, I have renovated my farm entrance with a design like a mouse trap. Whenever Swiftlets fly into the farm they can’t fly out so they will stay”.

“Oh I see… Mr.C, that is marvelous. So all swiftlets could stay in your farm. If all Swiftlet can’t fly out then all would die isn’t it?”

“Mr. James, they could fly out but very hard to fly out”.

“Mr. C, very hard to fly out mean No Way Out which equivalent to dead”

Mr.C scratches his head and asks me, can I supply food to them like using the insect powder.

My reply was …still dead!

This is real, no joke. This is what Mr.C told me. I have met people from all walks of life. You would be shocked what they know and what they don’t know and what they did to their farms.

I am sure you have heard farms that shut down theirs entrance holes during certain hours to make sure the Swiftlet stay longer or stay in their farms.

They didn’t know this would create bad effect. Some close the entrance-hole from 7 or 8 or 9 pm till the next morning. The Swiftlets were forced to stay in farms. They were forced to stay unwillingly against their will. They go thru 10 or more hour of trauma in the farms. With such trauma do you think the Swiftlet would still like these farms that frighten them? In fact they would remember and once they got a chance to leave they will never return. In fact they would blacklist such farms.

Don’t be too happy when you think you could control nature. We can’t control nature all we could do is to flow with nature.

I sure many have been practicing such act but be prepared to face the consequences.

I had visited many farms, travelled to all swiftlet towns and meeting all sorts of people. You couldn’t imagine what I heard and what I have seen. Some are so ridiculous and unbelievable.

Some even throw the Swiftlet jargons at me (obviously they didn’t know that I am the James from www.swiftletfarmer.blogspot.com) when I prompted them further they were totally lost. Some even can’t differentiate between A.fuciphagus and Apus-apus while they fly in the sky but already undertake huge projects.

There was once a reader called me claimed that he had built many successful farms (purely her said). He wants to know the tweeters I am selling are from China or Indonesia.

I told him I don’t care where they are made from as long the frequency and the sound that came out from the these black holes suit my ears and the birds’ ears I would use them. I have my own requirements and specifications.

Then he asks me what kbps I use. I replied that is for bites in computer. No Birds. He was lost and confused.

I guess the more you think you knew that is the time that you actually know nothing.

Good Swiflet Farming All. The Best is to Blast and Share!
