“James I will fly to Kuala Lumpur in 2 days time, once reached I will call you . We want to discuss about Love Potion agency and your consultancy and information about Swiftlet farming” This is what my readers from Vietnam said.
Mr.Tran & wife had started Swiftlet farming for more than 3 years now. They have many successful farms. They also build Swiftlet farms for others. They read my blog from Vietnam and had used Love Potion and were so pleased with the results. His wife said the Love Potion in Vietnam is so precious they use it cautiously so as not to waste. They were so impressed with the result.
The reason they were here is to source for Swiftlet farming equipments, to learn more how Malaysian build Swiftlet farm and to discuss Love Potion agency for Vietnam market.
Mr.Tran is a very intelligent and sharp person. He knows what I said when I explained the reason behind failed and successful farm. I asked him did you know that with the same farm’s design it may not work in different areas.
He replied, “James that was what I wanted to ask you”. He claimed he used to follow the Indonesian ways of farming which uses the small entrance hole and its design. The successful rate was less than 80%. Thereafter he changed his way of doing and followed the Malaysian ways and the successful rate was above 90%.
So after experiencing the different ways and techniques of farming he knows whose he should follow and learn.
Owl and Gecko are the biggest problem as most of the farms were built in the rural and agriculture area far away from Ho Chi Minh City. But Gecko has value too. They are used for traditional medicine. They could grow up to 1ft. If caught it could be sold for US$ 100.00 per 300gram.
Well in Vietnam a Swiftlet farm could generate income not only from nests but also Geckos. I wonder does Malaysia has the same value for Geckos...em..em
Mr. Tran is a Swiftlet farming enthusiast he install CCTV in all his farms to observe the movement of the birds. He even brought along his laptop and showed me his farm’s internal online live So that I could comment and advise on it. That was brilliant.
He asked me why birds only stayed on certain areas of the farm. I explained to him the reasons and asked him to rectify them.
I also explained to him the different type of tweeters to be used in farm. Some are not appropriate to be used for internal. One must know how to distinguish them to get the effectiveness. In Vietnam there are not many choices of tweeters and there are expensive.
They are plenty of birds in Vietnam and it is not hard to attract birds into farm due to its nature habitat of abundance of green. Furthermore Vietnam is located in a Delta area with soft soil and rivers which produces plenty of insects.
Though the location is an advantage then again according to Mr.Tran there are still many failed farms.
Mr. Tran brought back some Swiftlets sound (Hypnotic Internal) , tweeters, etc to use for his farm to boost up the population and nests.
It was good to have meet up with them. They are nice and sincere people. Will see them again.
Good Swiftlet farming All! The Best is To Teach and Share!
