The season has begun. The raining season is here. Swiftlets are looking for farms to build their nests especially those that had reached maturity and ready to mate.

Don’t waste this opportunity. Here is the time to capture as many as possible to your farms. There are many roaming in the sky. How are you going to make them stay at your farm?
I received many calls from my readers complaining many birds entering their farms now but they don’t stay.
Well if they don’t stay chances of them making nests is slim. This is the normal behavior of birds. During this season in prime birds’ zone area you could see thousand of them roaming in the sky. They’re not yours until they make nests in your farm. They will play or flying in and out at the entrance hole of all farms until they find one that suit them and eventually would stay and make nests. This will go on for weeks until your external sound no longer can attract them and this is when other farms had attracted them to stay.
In other words your farms must have a good micro. Relying only on sound would probably last few weeks. Once they got used to the sound they won’t come and play anymore.
This is where Aroma comes in for both new farms and old farms. All my new farms and old farms are using Love Potion on a double dose during the beginning of raining season.. If you don’t attract them to stay now then when? Till the season over? Or wait till the next season next year? Then you would have wasted few months perhaps more.
Once the Swiftlets come and play especially entering the entrance hole naturally they feel unsafe as deeper they fly in the darker it gets and they have not got used to the new environment. That is why most birds that fly in would exist within second until they feel safe then only they will stay longer. At this stage besides sound (hearing) there are only two things that the birds could use to sense the surrounding for threat. As it’s getting darker inside the farm, echolocation and smell (Aroma) will be the senses. As we are unable to control the echolocation where is solely belonged to the birds but we could control the smell (Aroma). If we could control the smell so what are we waiting for?
Imagine a colony of birds fly in the smell of the farm tells them that “this is a new farm hardly had any birds stay or make nests there must be danger” do you think this new colony would stay?
It is all about courting the birds and making them thinks that your new farm or old farm is a party ground. We can’t deny the A. Fuciphagus love crowd the more the merrier that is why we play population, mating and baby sound internally. This is not enough they may come and leave and never stayed. Aroma (Love Potion) helps making good micro and after applying it imitates a farm of full of birds thus birds that fly in would feel safe to stay and safe to make nests. For farms that already have nests it helps to increase nests as the permanent birds in the farm feels more comfortable and their young birds would not be easily courted by other farms.

As I had said before time is money and Swiftlets farming is an investment. The shorter period you could court the birds to make nest in your farm the faster you could see the returns.
