if one reads my blog and has knowledge in design he definitely won't do this kind of entrance which force the wind inside.
This farm belongs to my reader Mr.K from Sarawak and was built by a famous person there. He was having a headache and wants to know why birds don’t stay in his farm. He couldn’t figure it out and wants my advice.
I told him all the solutions are right in front of you. It is a matter of how to discover them. I told him that all problems in farm are manmade. In other words it was created by those who are lack in skill in Swiftlet farming. Obviously before a farm is built (shop lot) it is empty. If one is not skillful they would put all the problems in it. So the best is to avoid putting problem in the farm so that in future you won’t have to solve it. It is as simple as that. “Don’t dirty it and you don’t have to clean it up”
By standing in the farm and observe and look at it, one could discover the problems (provided you are as Sharpe as me). Once you know how the problem arises then you could solve them. But I always believe in preventive measure. Why want to mess it up in the first place? Isn’t that stupid?
Well perhaps those who built it might not even know that they have created problems in the farm.
I try to teach Mr.K. The best way to teach other is by making them think. Therefore I ask him questions so that he could remember it the next time.
“Mr.K, why do you need so many exhaust fans in your new farm? “
“James, the consultant says it is to reduce the heat and temperature”
“Mr.K isn’t it when one builds a farm he had already anticipated this problem by putting double layers bricks, Bubble foil and so on. Then the heat problem wouldn’t arise and there is no need for exhaust fans?”
“James, you are right but how come he never thought of that. “
When you look at the above pictures there are so many mistakes. There are many more mistakes found in this farm that I can’t finish writing. If I have to expose them all then it better to demolish the whole farm and build new one.
Obviously I can’t ask Mr.K to do that. He had already spent quite a lot of money to own this sick farm. The only thing I could do is to salvage as much as possible by not incurring too much cost.
Sometimes I hate cleaning up other people mess. Please all readers get the right person to do your farm if you don’t want to clean up the mess later!
Good Swiftlet Farming All!
