This video was taken by me at the Sandakan Airport Sabah. The Swiftlets (M.Esclulanta) make nests under the staircase. As they are not so sensitive to bright light compared to A.Fuciphugus.
There are plenty of Swiftlets in Sabah (A.Fuciphusgus & M.E). The Swiftlet population is huge due to plenty of greens. Any simply made Swiftlet farms could attract large number of birds. It is common to have more than 100 nests in the first year.( or more)
Those who complained about poor performance of their swiftlet farm are those who build swiftlet farms based on the concept as the same as building Chicken Coops.
