Good Result After Revamp ( Stand Alone farm)

Last week I was in the North a routine visit to a Stand alone farm that I had revamped. I am managing it for 6 months to making sure it has 10 nests in 6 months as I had promised the owner. I had written about the revamp in my previous article.

It was a 6 hours drive and the weather in the northern region was bad. It rains non stop and I have to drive slow. The farm’s owner reached the farm before me and waited for me for almost 2 hours. He was quite up set. I guess he was very impatient to see what happen to his farm after I had revamped. He has no access to the farm as I am holding the keys and this was the arrangement of the revamp.The moment I reached the farm he was so anxious. I apologized and explained what had happened.

As I know he didn’t expect much. For him 1 nest in a month would be great. Because before the revamp his farm has only 5 nests after one and a half year and thereafter there is no improvement. All the birds had left the farm and never returned. There were no new nests. That was why I was asked to undertake the revamp.

To me I had anticipated something different as I knew the potentiality of the area and the farm and the only set back were the micro, the design of the farm, sound etc.

To his surprise when we checked out the farm there were 6 new nests and many new nest marking. It was amazing, one and a half year stagnated, not a single nest and within 1 month after the revamp there were 6 new nests.

The owner was shocked to see the result. Obviously I was happy. When we were inside there were birds flying inside and there were many new spots of birds shit.

As I observed the bird shits closely there were from young birds. It shows there will be more nests coming in few months time and to 10 nests in 6 months wouldn’t be a problem at all.

What I did was repositioned the entrance hole according to the flying pattern of the birds. Hacking down the walls at the roving area and adding partitions to create a good internal environment. All exhaust fans were removed as I had mentioned in my previous article this farm has too many exhaust fans.

After the renovation completed Love Potion was applied to every floors of the farm and I shall continue to do this every month during my visit for next 6 months.

But after only 1 month the result was beyond expectation. For sure the owner was one happy man after the visit to witness it himself.

I am happy too as I had turned around a failed farm. I shall be visiting this farm again next month and shall keep you all up dated.
