He didn't install tweeters at the bottom of the entrance hole which he should have.
Another unique one, either that is the sign for some people to recognize who this Bh belong to (with purposes) or a landmark for birds...ha..ha. 
Trademark infringement .McDonald may takes legal action....ha.ha .. It has Fly thru but not Drive thru. They don't serve Burger but for sure they serve Birds Nests Soup.

不是的，James、8個窩在1年半的時間。 但是我的師傅说耐心就是金，只要有耐心，鉄柱磨成針。 他要我等5年。 然後，如果再沒有任何的改善，那麽他就會裝修它」。
霹靂的H先生真是一個好人，謙遜和現實的人，但是也是非常的天真。 他根本什么都不知道那2種頻道從SD卡或USB聽起來是完全與节省成本有關，但是就與吸引燕子無關。 所有3層樓只用1個 Amps是以便他的師傅不必花費更多的金錢。
我遇過很多燕屋主少在燕屋農場的伴音系统上根本知道的很少。 多數認為，只要有聲音從高音揚聲器播出來燕子就會被吸引到，並且它們將飛行入他們的燕屋農場並且會停留。 很明確地這不是那麽簡單。

4) 超載的Amp將制造出品質差的聲音。
5) 會因此而起短路
6) 長期的使用會減少聲音的質量。
我解釋了給H先生它的好處和坏処。 他很惊奇的聽到我的解釋並且告訴我， 「James沒有人告訴我這一點]。
更加意外的是他問我， 「James，我是不是應該告訴我的師傅這一點呢」。

“James do you have an Amplifier that can play both external and internal sound simultaneously?
This was what my reader asked while I was driving to Banting.
I asked him why do you want an Amp that could play both sounds at the same time.
James, my Sifu said one Amp for all 3 floors is the best set-up. My Sifu uses this set up for all the Swiftlet farms he built for people. Currently I am using his system which the external sound is on the left channel and internal sound on the right channel. I want to get an additional Amp for standby in case something goes wrong.
Oh I see…. So with this type of sound system set-up how many nests you have in your Bh?
Not a lot..James , 8 nests…but I am quite happy.
So 8 nests in 2…3..or ..4..months?
No James, 8 nests in 1 and the half years. But my Sifu said patience is gold. He asked me to wait 5 years. After that if there is no improvement then he would renovation it.”
What a nice, humble and down to earth person, Mr.H of Perlis in very naive. He didn’t know that the 2 channels sound from the SD card or USB is all about cost saving and has got nothing to do with attracting birds. 1 Amps for all 3 floors is to save the use of Amps so that his Sifu don’t have to fork out more money..
I have met many Bh’s owners who know very little above sound system of Bh. Most would think that as long there is sound coming out from tweeters birds would be attracted to it and they would fly into their bhs and stay. It definitely takes more than that.
It is not surprised that many Bh’s owners can’t differentiate between external and internal sound. Some use external sound for internal and via versa. It is not that you can’t use them in such way but the tempos of both sounds are different. Though you may still see lots of birds but the nests building process would be slow. We want nests not birds. No point of having hundred of Birds coming to your farm to play every day but don’t build nests.
The disadvantages of having 1 Amp for all floors:
1) Overloading (shorten the life span of the Amp)
2) If the Amp malfunction the whole Bh is out of sound (if every single floor has an individual Amp then one of them malfunction the Bh still have sound and you don’t have to worry birds fly away)
3) Harder to identify the speaker wires when repairing as all wires are run thru a single connection.
4) Amp that is overload would produce poor quality sound.
5) May cause short-circuit
6) Prolong use would reduce the quality of sound.
I explained to Mr.H about the pros and cons. He was surprised to hear my explanations and told me, “James no one had ever told me about this “.
To my surprise he asked me, “James should I tell my Sifu about it”.
My God! I told him it is up to you…lah. He wondered why his Sifu didn’t tell him about the disadvantages of using 1 Amp for all floors.
If I were him I won’t ask at all. Mr.H is a nice and humble person that is why his Sifu didn’t tell him the disadvantages of using 1 amp for all floors, perhaps his Sifu may not knew it himself.

James I have a question for you. Is there a way to find out whether my Amps are running without driving all the way to my Bh?
This is the call I received from Mr.W of Sabah. This article is good for those that are new in Swiftlet Farming.
If you want to find out whether the Amp (internal sound) is running and you don’t want to drive all the way to your Swiftlet farm to check it out, this is what you could do. It is economical and easy to install.
This is not a new technique it has been practiced by many farmers for many years. I guess most of us have known this. For those who are new to Swiftlet farming this might be helpful.
Things you need to have:
1) A Mobile phone that has auto call receive mode. Most mobile phone has this setting all you need is to set it to auto receive mode.
2) A good reliable charger. I don’t mind to pay for a good quality one as it will last longer.
3) A digital timer.
4) Fix an additional tweeter (internal sound) at the control room. This is for the Mobile to pick up the sound when you call. (If the internal sound is loud enough and could be heard in the Control room then you don’t need to fix an additional tweeter)
The charger is to be plugged into the timer. This is to prevent over charge and heat problem that may shorten the life of the battery of the phone.
Since the phone is not going to use up lots of battery, you may set the timer to charge 4 hours every 2-3days (depends on the type of phones).
Now you could call and check the sound of your Swiftlet farm from anywhere. When you call and there is no sound that means it is time for you to visit the Bh.

我大约下午3點左右到達了Sepang，L先生已經在不遠的咖啡店等待。 從K.L.的車程大概1個小時。
嗨L先生，你好吗? 您久等了？
沒有，James還好的。 是我早到了。
您什麼時候到達了這裡L先生？
噢，我大约下午1點到達了這裡。

它有大量的美洲紅樹，並且它也不是一條小的河。 通过觀察河和樹的機蓋看見了許多的燕子在天空上漫遊和搜尋食物。 我可以看到有上百的燕子。
我也想知道燕子的數量是否够多的可以支持更多的燕屋農場。 雖然我知道或許不是所有在這裡20個燕屋農場都是成功的可能只有30%而以，但是還是最好查明在這個區域的潛在性的。
不是所有有許多燕子的地方都是有潛能的。 這就是許多人共同的错誤。
燕屋農場的数量是不可能用來作為措施或辯解地方的潛在性。 例如說：Setiawan有巨大燕屋農場的数目，也是很難修造成功燕屋農場的一個地方。 换句话说燕屋農場比燕子是更多。

He wants to know whether it is still feasible to invest in an area that had many existing Bhs. He had called me many times since February and I only agreed to do the survey last week. My apology to Mr.L as my schedule is filed up with many appointments.
His relative has offered him a unit. His relative has 4 unit of shops there and 3 of them have been converted into Bh. Though the 3 units are doing quite well but Mr.L still wants to do it properly and making sure no mistake is made. That was why I was invited for the visit.
I reached Sepang at about 3 pm and Mr.L is already waiting at a Coffee shop which located not far. It takes about an hour drive from K.L.
Hi Mr.L, how are you? Have you waited long?
No James it is OK. I came here early.
What time did you reach here Mr. L?
Oh I reached here about 1 pm.
Wah you have been waiting since 1pm? That is 2 hours. I thought our appointment is at 3pm?
Is Ok James, I came here early so that I could have a look at those Bhs and enjoy the coffee here.
The shops belong to his uncles and out of goodwill they offer him one unit. I guess he was lucky.
There are 2 rolls of shops here located not far from Sepang town. The front roll has business activities and all are occupied there is only one unit which the upper floor is converted into a Bh.
Whereas for the back roll of shops most of them are converted into bhs. You may not notice this if you drive pass the front roll of shops.
Mr. L is very cautious as he knows not all Bhs here are doing well except few and those that belonged to his uncle. There are not less than 20 bhs here, which 90% of the shops are Bhs except one or two which had been turned into warehouses.
The competition is stiff and winners take all, losers left with none.
In order to find out the feasibility I have to know the surrounding geographical areas. After observing the building and its surrounding I discovered that there is a river, a saltwater river located 500 m right in front these shops. It was surrounded by mangrove trees and many would have not noticed it unless there are locals.
It has plenty of mangrove trees and it is not a small river. By observing the river and the canopy of the tree I saw many swiftlets roaming the sky searching for food. I could see hundred of them.
I wanted to find out whether the Swiftlets population is big enough to support more farms. Though I knew not all the 20 Bhs here are successful perhaps 30% of them only but it is better to be ascertained about the potentiality of this area.
Not all areas that have lots of Swiftlet farms are potential areas. This has been commonly mistaken by many people. The number of Swiftlet farms cannot be use as a measure or to justify the potentiality of a place. Like for example eg: Setiwan which has huge number of Bhs which is also one of the hardest place to build successful Bhs. In other words Bhs are more than Swiftlets.
There is one particular Bh here that attracted lots of birds. The owner had erected an addition floor which made the building a 3 storey Bh. He has all the height advantages. Though height is one of the factors but I see no major threat to other Bhs if there are done properly from Internal Design to Micro management (Aroma & Sound).
By observing the Bhs there I discovered that some of them are facing heat problem. The exhaust fans showed that the Internal micro are not managed well. If the micro has been managed well then why do they need exhaust fans?
I explained in detail the outcome of my evaluation and findings to Mr.L and now it is up to Mr.L to decide to go in or otherwise.
Overall it is a good place.

Yes most of us hate Owl. They kill our Swiftlets and once there are inside our Bhs all Swiftlets would fly away and never come back.
Not all Owls are bad. Some Owls only feed on rodents and rarely hunt for Swiftlets but their presences frighten Swiftlet farmers more than Swiftlets.
I found this little Owl outside my neighbor’s Swiftlet farm. It stands right on top of the water filter.
I was surprised to see it standing there. They usually don’t come out during the day. As I move closer to take pictures of it I discovered that one of its eyes has been injured and its wings too.
Someone must have hit it and tried to kill it. I don’t know whether he would survive. I have thought of catching it and take it home buy that wasn’t a good idea too. Well just leave nature as it is.
All Owls are protected species it is against the law to kill them.
