“Dear James, there are hundreds of birds came and play everyday for the pass 8 months but not a single nest was built... What is the problem? Can you please help?” This was what Mr. Chan from Kuantan cried.
His farm started operation 8 months ago in a Prime Bird Area. He is new in Swiftlet Farming. Few months after attending a seminar and knowledge learned from close friends he undertakes the construction of his farm by himself with the help of few Indon workers.
He is very unhappy about the result. In fact he told me. James “I am expecting
about 100 -200 nests in the 1st year and now it is already 8 months. I had used all the latest Swiftlet farming equiments in my farm. How come I don’t even see 1 % of what I had expected?".
I was muted but I can’t blame him. This kind of aim ( 100-200 nests 1st year) is very common for newbies in fact the more experiences we are the lower the target we set but not so for newbies.
When the sound was switched on hundred of birds came and play everyday even 8 months later there are still plenty of birds came and play everyday.
Unfortunately there is not even one nest. I replied “I am sure there are birds dropping in your farms. I am sure all the old shits dried up and you see new ones every time”.
Yes James” how did you know? I replied well I have seen and visited this type of farms before. I explained, the birds came and play they also stayed but not for long some how something forced them to abandoned or prevented them from making nests.
I told him there are many reasons for the birds not making nests in your farm. Knowing that hundreds of birds came and play this shows that the farm able to attract birds which is a very positive sign.
What Mr. Chan could do is to find the causes (internally) that affect his farm and rectify them immediately. With many birds came and play everyday I am confident if the problems are solved there would be nests in his farm in 2-3 months time.
Thru our conversation I advised him to look for the causes and teach him how to rectify them.
I advised him to use Love Potion after the rectification works to enhance fast nests grow. He was very happy about it as now there is a direction for him to head. For the past 8 months he was only waiting and don’t know what to do other than crossing his fingers and hopping and wishing for 100-200 nests he had targeted with no basis to support this growth.
Setting a target is easy but achieving it is totally different thing. Often than not I find that the less knowledgeable and less experience farmers would have high expectation on their farm in term of number of nests compared to the more experience farmers. Why is this so?......well that is for you guys to find out…
Two to there months from now I shall be visiting his farm and see the changes and up date the out come on my blog.
