Last week I was invited to visit a farm owned by Mr. Liew from Prai. He has been using Love Potion since his farm started 4 months ago. He was very proud of his farm and I was given the honor to witness it myself the farm that I had designed and built by Mr. Liew with the help his sons.( DIY).

Before he builds his farm a year ago he often calls me and sending email like almost everyday seeking for opinions and advices. He was those who strongly believe in No Guessing Game and Do It Right the First Time.
He once told me he had heard too many stories of failed farms especially from those of his close friends and he definitely does not wish to emulate them.
His farm was a 2 storey 20x75 located in a good area but not a Prime Zone area. I had visited it before it was renovated in to a Swiftlet farm. Obviously I gave a full green light to Mr. Liew to go ahead after I had done a survey on that area about a year ago.
To Mr. Liew surprise after 4 months his farm has 38 full cup nests and plenty of nests marking. He didn’t expect such result. All he had expected and wanted was 10 nests in the first a year. He wouldn’t want to expect more than this as this was his first farm and he has no experience.
One thing interestingly was the birds built most of their nests at the area he had sprayed with most Love Potion claimed Mr. Liew.
“James I discovered something. You taught me to be observance this is what I discovered speaking with confident.”
I replied… I don’t see a newbie here do I Mr. Liew? You had learned well.
Mr. Liew, smiled and patched me on my back and replied. “Sifu you had taught me well”.
He explained this was the area near the exit (staircase) where all the remainder of Love Potion in the spray pump is all discharged here on the wall before he leaves the farm.
The birds just love this area claimed Mr.Liew. Ever since then he concentrated 50% of the spray on this area to build up the colony. This is the way to do it. Brilliant!
I anticipate that to hit 100 or more nests in the first year for this farm is not a problem at all. For sure one thing Mr.Liew is an extra ordinary person when it comes to observance.
Like I had always advised my readers it not how long that you had got involved in this business it is how fast you learn and how well you know this business.
I often come across farmers who bragged about their umpteen years experiences in Swiftlet farming but when you get into conversation with them you know how much they knew.
I am very happy that Mr. Liew’s farm in progressing very well with the helps of Love potion and hope to see him again.
