There are 2 thought of school when it comes to internal design of a farm.
Some strongly believe in partitioning while the other believes in open system type (hall).
So which is more superior? The answer is both have their own advantages and disadvantages.
There are many reasons of creating partitioning in farms some of the reasons are reducing light, reduce and prevents movement of wind, creating good flying path, force element of bird flying path, etc. In order to achieve all these one must know where and how to install the partitions.
There is no guessing game here. If one is unsure and installed the partition based on its perception without any basis of knowledge of what is light intensity (lux), what is flying path, what is wind movement, what is force element and so on then the partitions in the farm will be a threat to the farm rather than help. In other word it is disaster.
Know where to put them, the right place to ensure it would be added advantage rather than sabotaging your own farm. Thru my experiences of having visited uncounted failed farms sad to say 9 out of 10 farmers are actually putting threats in their farms instead of helping.
In fact partitioning also affects Temp and Rh in farms. If you know how to play with it, it would be a useful tool for you to tune up the Micro.
If the Partitions are being install on the wrong areas in the farm it will restrict the moment of birds thus forcing them not to fly inner or deeper into the farm.
Because of this it will take a long time for birds to build nests and the population grow will be slow.
There is no standardized partitioning system when it comes to Swiftlets Farm Designing. It all depended on the size of the farm. The location whether it is located at the windy area like sea side, hills, beach side, etc……
Besides that it also must take into consideration of the area the farm located, is it at prime birds zone area or otherwise. By in dept understanding of all the above it would help you in determining how the partitioning should be don’t, where should it be located, the correct distance and sizes, etc……
Bear in mind the Partitioning in the farm is to create a good Micro thus helping farm to attract birds to stay and to make nests.
For sure it is not for satisfying our own needs of follow others or just because you have heard or seen some successful farms with Maze type partitioning and you just follow that will be disaster.
So the conclusion is whenever you renovate farms making sure you know what you are doing and know the consequences afterward
Also make sure the erection of partitions in your farm is to help your farm to attract birds to stay and build nests not the opposite.
Partitioning is one of the very useful tools that can help to create a good Micro at the same time it is also one of the Most Powerful tools that can put your farm in disastrous position if you did it wrongly.
