After waited for couple of months perhaps a year finally you see the nests in your farm reaches more than 50 pcs. For Swiftlet farms that are located in good areas and are properly done it could exceed more than 100 nests. What should you do the next step? Just wait?
There are ways you could do to push up the nests grow further. This is the most crucial period of 50-100 nests. If you know what to do and had planned it well the number of nests could goes beyond double in 6-12 months time. This is what happens to many of my readers’ farms. It works very well from Setiawan to Batu Pahat and from Termerloh to A.Setar.
They use the combination of Love Potion and Powerful Sound. While their internal environment are perfectly under control and maintained they spray Love Potion on a regular basis and changed their sound once they find that it no longer attracts large number of birds.
Secondly they change tweeters every 2-3 months making sure the malfunction ones are taken down and replaced with new ones. (Maintenance is very important)
After every each time they visit their farms before leaving they would spray Love Potion to cover up human scent they left behind in the farms while repairing things.
They also make sure that all Pest like cockroaches, ants, lizards, etc are eliminated. We cannot just sit and wait and expect double digit growth.
Many of them pour Love potion into the Tay-ring humidifier it is very effective in attracting birds into the farm especially if the Humidifier is placed at the Roving area. They spray Love potion in a zigzag line on walls in the nesting areas below the planks. You should try this and see it yourself. Swiftlets just love the Love Potion smell. It attracts more birds into the Roving and if birds have the chance to enter the roving then going into the nesting is just meters away.
It is not easy to hit 50-100 nests within a year (of course there are many cases where farms could hit more than 200 nests in a year) once it reaches 50- 100 pcs don’t lose this opportunity.
Once it grows and the nests reach more than 200 pcs to hit 400 pcs is not hard. That is why many experts always say once a farm reaches the 3rd year the nests grow would be fast.
