( Both are the same a round plate at the back)You heard some claimed that the common rectangular shape piezo tweeter is better than the square type of 3x3”. But there are many farms especially the old ones only use the 3x3” type and never use the rectangular one. So which is the best? Let’s find out.
So which one is better or effective to attract more birds and liked by the birds? All have to do with its sound quality and the distance the sound could reach.
The size and shape of the copper plate at the back of both tweeters are the same. The caps at back portion of the tweeters are of the same kind. Other than that the differences are the shape. It comes in many shapes and sizes 3x3”, rectangular 5x2, round type and so on. In piezo tweeters development the shape of tweeters plays a very important role. It affects the frequency transfer and energy. This will influence the distance the sound travels and its sound quality.
The longer the distance the sound could travels the more areas the sound could cover thus affecting the quality of the sound. The sound from Piezo Horn type (3x3”) could travel farther than the Rectangular types. Because of its design the sound it produces are sharper and has the ability to reach all corners of the farm. This would enhance the surround sound effects which create a lively farm environment.
The sharp sound that travels far has the ability to re bounce back when it hits the wall in the farm thus creating an environment of natural sound.

Therefore if someone asks me which would I prefer? I would go for the Piezo Horn 3x3” nevertheless the installation is a bit difficult especially at the 90dg edges due to its size. Other than the difficulty in installation I gain more advantages, one of them is surround sound effect.
3x3” Piezo has a better reaching distance of sound compared to the rectangular one. But given a choice consultants and contractors would opt for rectangular type because it is easy to install thus same time and work.
The rectangular one is easy to install at any corners because of its slim sizes. The sound it produces is clear but the reaching distance of sound is limited due to its design of flat face.
If you want to pull more birds to fly inner to your farm I suggest you use the 3x3” type especially at all those areas of interholes. Subsequently you can mix both or several type of tweeters together in a farm subjected to the internal design of the farm.
For me I would use 90% of 3x3” piezo for internal and 10% of other type for selected areas.
