The positioning of Hex tweeters or should I say the face ( mouth) of the Hex tweeters should face horizontally if possible. This gives greater distance of reaching birds from far away.
Don’t be mistaken the Hex tweeter is not the tweeter you put on the entrance –holes or at the Open roof area where they have to be place or face at 40dg angle or higher.
The purposes of the Hex Tweeter is to call birds from farm away which can be at the nearby Oil Palm plantations, Neighbors’’ farms, the near Padi fields, etc. Not from the sky high above. Definitely they don’t come directly from the sky they are not angels.
So if your Hex tweeters whether DIY or Readymade one face more than 20 dg then it wouldn’t be effective. As the angle goes above 20 or 30 dg the sound would travel higher as it goes further and eventually wouldn’t reach those important areas where the birds congregate.
Birds play and feed above canopy of trees and above Padi fields and so on. It was mistakenly perceived the higher the Hex tweeters mouth facing the better because most would think that all birds are directly above farms and the Hex tweeters mouth should face vertically if possible.
I guess if it is not because of the rain most would want to have a Hex tweeters that face more than 45dg angle.
Even for Bazooka it should not face higher than 20 dg. Unless you don’t have a choice where there are many obstacles, such as walls and pillars that obstruct its position then you have to place the bazooka more than 20dg or higher.
Though many take this lightly as not important but in Swiftlet farming a small adjustment resulted in big changes.

Why the Gezzilion Star-9 & 10 is so unique? This question often asked by many.
“Well because it attracts birds to play, stay and make nests. Best of all it attracts young birds in colonies to stay in farms thus increasing the number of nests.”

Why GS is so unique?
In order to know that you need to have a GS-9 or 10 to compare them with other sound you have. Be it from anywhere it could be from local or neighboring countries or whatever, immaterial how expensive it is. I had always reminded all “The Best is To Test”.
Play the sounds on the Amp or Pc. Compare them, the sequences of repetition of clicking, calling, mating, etc . You would know which sound has more of this. Compare the clarity, sharpness, any distortion, hiss and hum, etc. You justify it yourself. You don’t have to be a sound expert to be able to differentiate it.
Secondly, thru our pain staking of recording. I make sure all sounds from the GS could be heard clearly. From the loudest sounds of calling to the softest background sound of babies’ calls all can be heard. It creates an environment of many birds play, stayed and lives in it. The sound effect is so real that new birds that fly in would choose to stay. So when the birds fly in they feel safe and comfortable thus making the population increase.
The dominant sounds which I used in GS to call the young birds, the young colony leaders and female birds are recorded with no distortion and with its best clarity.
The sequences of every each calling are properly planned because I know and understand the meanings of each sound and its calling.
Compare them you would know which will eventually help the number of nest in your farm to increase.
GS is strongly recommended to be used in farms if you want birds’ population and nests to increase fast.

( Before)The Swiftlet farm that I am building for my reader in P.D is almost completed. Time passes fast. From an old bungalow before now totally a new swiftlet farm.
Initially the owner wanted to build a Swiftlet farm next to this old bungalow which is located in an orchard of 5 acres land, but when I did a visit, I discovered that it is cheaper and better to convert the Old bungalow into a Swiftlet farm. It has more advantages to convert this bungalow than building a new one.
Since it is an old building and it has been there for many years birds have got used to the structure and it existence. If a new building is to be erected it would take a while for the birds to get used to it. Therefore it is common for new standalone to take a longer time to attract birds to stay.
By converting the old bungalow into Swiftlet farm to the birds structurally it has not changed much. During the period of construction there were many birds circling above and some even came near to observe.
Though it was a single storey farm but the size is equivalent to a 20x75ft double storey Swiftlet farm. By doing this it creates a bigger area per floor so that the birds could easily fly and maneuver.
All the walls are double layered with Styrofoam for insulation to control the internal environment. As we were inside the farm it feels so cooling. Before this it was so hot inside. Those workers complained they can’t sleep at night because of the heat. Now they need blankets to sleep.
If the weather is good by March the sound could be switched on. So far I am satisfied with the works and the good workmanship.
