Triang，彭亨，一个闻名的养燕市镇，只是为那些养燕的人。有一种说法“建立任何糟糕的燕屋农场在这里也一定会成功。”

那可能是真正不过是5-10年前的事。现在有许多许多的燕屋农场在这里。竞争是僵硬的，而赢家通吃，剩下糟糕的燕屋农场便一窝都没有。

再也不能建立一个简单的燕屋农场，对燕子不敏感也不知道燕子要些什么。建造一个建筑物，开一个洞，安装一些木板和高音扬声器等等再也起不了什么作用。

燕子已经适应环境的变化。现在没有野生的燕子，在不久之前有人曾声称，可以吸引野生的燕子到燕屋农场。这是非常误导的。

大多数的燕子来自别人的燕屋农场。因此，目标是确保新的燕屋农场是建有良好的设计，以适应燕子想要的东西。

几个星期前我被邀请去参观这个新的建筑。燕屋主L先生想把它转换成燕屋农场。他会见了一些所谓的专家来讨论他的意图和计划。

会见了他们之后，他决定雇佣我。这是常见的....哈哈哈。他们不能回答许多L先生的问题。这是L先生告诉我的。

我跟L先生说，下一次如果你要会见那些所谓的专家们，一定要确保你不要看我的步落格，否则你会很失望的。你会很惊讶，因为你知道的比他们还多。

一个3层楼高的建筑物，顶楼将被转换成燕屋农场。我必须观察周边地区才可以想出一个好的设计方案。我叫L先生开车到周围。我想知道那些成功的燕屋农场的位置在这里。我必须知道它们的距离。燕子傍晚回来的方向。我想知道在下雨的时候这些燕子聚集的地方。

这些所有的信息会帮助我想出一个又好又准确的设计方案。建立一个燕屋农场在一个拥有许多燕屋农场的城镇，与建立一个在僻静的地方比如像油棕园的建设是不同的。虽然两个都是燕屋农场，但是它的设计，尤其是内在方面是完全不同的。我不知道有多少人想到这一点。

Triang, Pahang, a town well known for Swiftlet farming, only for those who are into Swiftlet farming. There is a saying " build any lousy Swiftlet farm here it will be successful".

Well that was true probably 5-10 years ago. Now there are many Swiftlet farms here. Competition is stiff and winner takes all leaving lousy Swiftlets farms with no nests.

One can no longer build a simple Swiftlet farm that is not sensitive to what Swiftlets want. Erecting a building, open a hole, install some Nesting Planks and Tweeters, etc no longer works.

Swiftlets had adapted to the changes of the environment. There are no more wild Swiftlets now, which not long ago someone had claimed that Swiftlet farms could attract wild Swiftlets. That is very misleading.

Most Swiftlets are from somebody else's Swiftlet farms. Therefore the objective is to make sure your new Swiftlet farm is built with good design to accommodate what Swiftlets want.

I was invited to visit this new building couple of weeks ago. The owner Mr. L wanted to convert it into a Swiftlet farm. He had met few so called experts to discuss about his intention and plans.

After meeting up with them he decided to engaged me. That is common....hahaha. They can't answer many of Mr.L questions. That is what Mr.L told me.

I told Mr. L, next time if you want to meet up with the so called experts make sure you don't read my blog, otherwise you would be disappointed. You would be surprised that you now more than them.

A 3 storey building, which the Top floor will be converted into a Swiftlet farm. I have to observe the surrounding prior coming up with a design plan. I asked Mr.L to drive me around.  I want to know the location of those successful Swiftlet farms here. I want to know their distances. The direction of birds coming back at dust. I want to know the area these Swiftlets congregate during rain. 

All these information would help me to come up with a good and accurate design plan. Building a Swiftlet farm in a town with many Swiftlet farms  is different from building one in a secluded area like Oil Palm plantation. Though both is Swiftlet farm, but the design, especially the internal aspect is totally different . I wonder how many people have thought of this.

What have you observed from the above picture? ...........Most of the Swiftlet farms here are adopting the Open Roof design. So what design type should this soon to be Swiftlet farm follows. Well I guess you already know. 

This new Swiftlet farm must have an Internal environment that suit young Swiftlets from those existing Swiftlet farms. The objective here is to lure young Swiftlets from these farms. How do we do that. Well I will teach Mr.L and I am sure he is more than happy to learn from me.

As usual I always bring along a measurement tape. It is to make sure the roving area is big enough for the birds to maneuver. All nesting area should be bigger than 14 x 14 ft. There will be few sections of partition prior to the Nesting area as this is to reduce the light and wind.

Bear in mind, Swiftlets dislike movement of air in Swiftlet farm, therefore I don't encourage fan

 ( exhaust fan) to be used in Swiftlet farm.

Owls to keep Subang Jaya rats at bay

THE Subang Jaya Municipal Council will be going wild to hunt down rats in areas under its jurisdiction.

A pilot project using owls to catch the vermin will begin next month and will see the council collaborating with Universiti Sains Malaysia and the Wildlife and National Parks Department (Perhilitan).

Council president Datuk Nor Hisham Ahmad Dahlan said they had planned the project for some time.

When it comes to getting rid of pest, he said, “as a green city, we don’t want to shoot the rats or use poison.”

“The project will go on for two years and, after the first six months, we will review its effectiveness,” he said.

He added that nesting grounds will be built for 12 pairs of birds. 

"The birds will be fed rat meat before the project begins to familiarise them with their prey," he said.

The project is expected to take place in two commercial areas in USJ, but this is only a suggestion and no concrete decision has been made.

The two year project will cost the council between RM100,000 to RM200,000.

The birds have a lifespan of between three to four years and, according to Hisham, will not disturb animals such as crows and pigeons, as they focused only on their prey.

This is a first time a council in Malaysia is implementing the project using owls but such method to remove pests had been used in South Africa before.

"為什麼這麼多人不知道如何去設計燕屋農場"。這在我的腦海不斷思考。

似乎大多數的燕屋農場都是設計或計畫失敗。我真正擔心的是那些可憐的失敗燕屋主。他們要做些什麼呢? 經過多年的寫作，提供免費的資訊在我的部落格 (还有很多在网络里可用的資訊)真是可悲地看到人們每天還在建設失敗的燕屋農場。

我的許多讀者建设了成功的燕屋農場就是在读了我的部落格之后才學習到，我不明白為什麼別人不能。

我被邀請去參觀幾個在Termeloh的燕屋農場。這里有一个很特別的尤其是它的設計是如此糟糕，裡面有很多死燕子。我想在这里指出它的錯誤與大家分享。

燕屋主最近从所謂的夥伴兼顧問 (合資企業)那里拿回這个燕屋農場來自己管理，因为他已经耗盡耐心了。

3層楼的燕屋農場，位於燕子區。許多人會夢想有燕屋農場建在這裡。與很多的成功燕屋農場包圍，這些都是達到數千个燕窝的燕屋農場。有一个燕屋農場在這裡已經是成功的一半....但不是此特定的燕屋農場。

最令人震驚的事情是，到處都是死燕子。在我打開門那一刻，死燕子是在我的腳下。看到它的大小和顏色我知道这些都是幼鳥。這些都是剛剛學會飛翔的年輕燕子。

燕屋主不知道為什麼他的燕屋農場有這麼多的死燕子。每次的到訪，他都發現死燕子。他清除它們。這是一個例行的工作。它只是再次發生。

他懷疑肉食動物，貓頭鷹、 老鼠、 壁虎等等，但到目前為止他沒有抓到什么。

你會容許此事發生在你的燕屋農場嗎? 不能怪主人，因為他想不出為什麼。他能得到的最接近的就是怪罪于肉食動物。

死燕子到處都是，在做窝區、 互连洞、 特別是低层。我注意到燕子最多死在较暗的地方。

這向我暗示燕子不能找到出去的路。剛剛學會飛翔的年輕燕子並沒有在完全黑暗的情况下有導航的能力。它們尚未開發的哢嗒聲 (回聲) 導航出從黑暗的區域飞出。

這些年輕的燕子很大程度上非常的依靠眩光，来引導它們飛來飛去。我敢肯定你們很多人遇到这样的情景，就是燕子飞向您的大燈或閃光燈，當你在燕屋農場中的时候。

這很明顯顯示出光线的密度對幼燕子的生存至關重要。如果它們不能找到在周圍或回窝的途中，它們將死于過度疲勞的飛行。

所以當一個人告訴你它是強制讓你的燕屋農場越暗越好，你就知道他的養燕知识。(接近于零的知識)。

通常這些都是为别人建设燕屋農場有很多年的人。這就是為什麼養燕的成功率仍然維持在20%。(80%失敗)。

燕屋農場的設計封裝一切，從光线密度的控制到容易飞行的幼燕子。它是養燕成功的最重要方面之一。

這個特別的燕屋農場，內部設計失敗。我不同意在下半部分有差距的需要，雖然我見過很多燕屋農場採用這種設計。它會導致弊大於利。

他們聲稱，它是让流動的空氣和通風的目的。我們不是有通風孔来做到這一點吗。其次，我們不鼓勵有流通的空氣在燕屋農場中。所以这不是很矛盾嗎?

分區是完全废了。它是建来殺死燕子的。看看照片A. 年輕的燕子會被光线吸引到(眩光)。對于这些燕子来说这是引它门出入口洞的光线。它們潜入眩光，撞在地板上。通常它們不會立刻死亡。它们会受傷几天，有些仍能飛來飛去，却死在其他地方。因此可以在燕屋農場周围發現死燕子。

這个設計很清楚地表明缺乏对燕子飛行行為的瞭解。有人可能認為这都是成功的燕屋農場的設計，尤其是在Setiawan和吉蘭丹州。对的，那是没错。這些燕屋農場都是在15-30年前建的，那个時候沒有競爭。也許在整個小鎮只有幾個燕屋農場。燕子是很丰富的。死燕子的比例相比增長燕子的人口的很巨大。所以死的部分都没什麼关系。

現在有這麼多的燕屋農場而燕子的人口正在減少，每個死的燕子在燕屋農場的未來產生很大的影響。

這个燕屋農場有一個奇怪的氣味。燕屋主投訴，日常有很多燕子玩。它們都是來自附近的燕屋農場，但是它們不會停留。他說，人們都不相信他的燕屋農場做得不好。從在外面玩的燕子數目來看，我同意。

奇怪的氣味在里面。它聞起來像一間髮型屋。刺鼻的氣味，参杂了一些香料氣味。他用什麼樣的香氣? 如何這種氣味可以在燕屋農場。我敢肯定燕子是恨死这种气味所以它们都不入住。我不想對此作進一步的評論。我已向燕屋主解釋。他知道我在說什麼。

日常那裡有大量的燕子來到他的燕屋農場但是只有極少數會留下。看看燕子留下的燕子屎。這些都是從年輕的燕子留下的。它們都是從其他人的燕屋農場来的。如果這个燕屋農場可以获得它的 30%他會笑著去銀行。很不幸的是，情況並非如此。這個燕屋農場不只是無法获得其他人的燕子，它甚至不能維持它自己的幼燕子。

你可以數到高音喇叭嗎? 答案是肯定的。我猜每層只有少於20个高音喇叭。燕屋主答道，師傅說: “沒有必要那麼多的高音喇叭”。

如果這个傢伙能成为師傅，那么所有讀过我部落格的人都能成为師傅。我说對嗎?。

它應該有至少80个高音喇叭。戰略性地安装在角落，因为燕子都喜欢在在角落做燕窝。

照片顯示高音喇叭 (下面或下一個) 都有燕窝靠近。它指示內部聲音的重要性在燕屋農場。這都是很基本的養燕知识但是在这个燕屋農場并没有被實行。

还有很多的問題在这个燕屋農場。我向燕屋主解釋每一个問題。我告訴他，为什么會出現這些問題，然后如何解決。这个一个一對一的指導，它是確保他理解它，以便他能自己管理它而不依賴于他人。

我們都可以從照片上看到，我們都不能否認，拥有這種技能的人都在為別人創造燕屋農場和自稱是師傅。

"Why So many People Don't Know How to Design Swiftlets Farm". This keeps pondering in my head.

It seems most Swiftlets farm are designed or planned to fail. What really worries me are the poor owner of  those failed Swiftlets farms. What are they to do. After so many years of writing, providing free information on my blog, (and there are tons of information available in the web) it is sad to see people still building failed Swiftlets farms everyday. 

Many of my readers had built successful Swiftlets farms after learning from my blog I don't see why others couldn't.

I was invited to visit few Swiftlets farms in Termeloh. This particular one is interesting which the design is so  bad that many Swiftlet died inside. I would like to point out the mistakes here and share with all.

The owner has recently taken back this Swiftlets farm to manage it himself after he runs out of patience with the so called partner cum consultant (JV). 

A 3 storey Swiftlets farm, located in a Prime Bird Zone. Many would dream to have a Swiftlets farm built here. This area is surrounded with many successful Swiftlets farms which some reaching few thousands nests. Having a Swiftlets farm here is already half way to success..but not for this particular Swiftlets farm.

The most shocking thing was , there are dead Swiftlets everywhere. The moment I opened the door dead birds are at my feet. By looking at the size and color I knew they are of young birds. These are the Young Swiftlets that just learned to fly. 

The owner has no idea why there were so many dead birds in his Swiftlet farm. Every visits he found dead birds. He cleared them. It is a routine job. It just occurs again and again.

He suspected predators, Owls , Rat, Gecko and so on, but so far he didn't catch any of them.

Would you allow this to happen to your Swiftlets farm? Can't blame the owner as he couldn't  figure it out why. The closest he could get was to blame it on Predators. 

Dead birds are everywhere, at the Nesting area, the Inter hole and particularly the ground floor. I noticed that most dead birds are at the darker area of the Swiftlet farm.

This hinted to me that they can't find their way out. Young Swiftlets that just learned to fly do not have the ability to navigate in total darkness. They have yet to develop the clicking sound (Echolocation) to navigate out from the dark area.

These young birds relied very much on the glare of light to lead them to fly around. I am sure many of you had encountered incident where birds charging to your headlight or flash light when you are inside the farm.

This evidently shows light density is vital for the survival of young birds. If they can't find their way around or back to their nests they will die of exhaustion of flying.

So when a person tells you that it is compulsory to have your Swiftlet farm the darker the better, you know how well he knows Swiftlet farming. (Knowledge near zero).

Often these are the people who had being  building Swiftlet farms for people for many years. This is why the successful rate of Swiftlet farming remains at 20%. ( 80% failed).

The design of a Swiftlet farm encapsulate everything, from control of light density to easy maneuvering for young birds. It is one of the most important aspect of  successful Swiftlet farming

For this particular Swiftlet farm, the internal  Design failed. I don't agree with having a gap at the lower part of the partition though I had seen many Swiftlets farms adopting such design. It causes more harm than good.

They claimed, it is for Movement of air and Ventilation purposes. Isn't we have the Ventilation holes to do that. Secondly we don't encourage Movement of Air inside Swiftlet farm. So isn't this contradicting?

The partitioning was totally disastrous. It was made to kill the birds. See a Picture A. Young birds are attracted to light (glare). To them it leads the way to Entrance hole. They dived down to the glare and hit the floor. Often they won't die instantly. It takes days to succumb to injuries, some of them still could fly around and die at other places. Therefore dead birds could be found all over the farm.

This design clearly shown the lack of understanding of Swiftlets flying behavior.  Some might argue that there are successful farms with such design especially in Setiawan and Kelantan. Well that is true. Those Swiftlet farms were built 15-30 years ago when there were no competition. Perhaps just a few Swiftlet farms in the whole town. Swiftlets were plentiful then. The dead Swiftlets were small percentage compared to the huge increase of Swiftlet population. So the dead ones consider nothing.

Now there are so many Swiftlets farms and the Swiftlet population is reducing, every each dead Swiftlet would have an impact on the future  of a Swiftlets farm.

This Swiftlet farm has a strange smell. The owner complained, there are many and Swiftlets playing everyday. They came from nearby Swiftlet farms but they don't stay. He said, people wouldn't believe him that his farm is not doing well. Judging from the number of birds playing outside I agree with him.

The smell insidewas strange. It smells like a hair saloon. A pungent smell, a cross smell of some spices. What kind of Aroma  is he using? How can this smell be in a Swiftlet farm. I am sure the Swiftlets hate it that is why there are not staying. I wouldn't want to comment on this further. I had explained to the owner. He knows what I am saying. 

There large number of Swiftlets come to his Swiftlets farm everyday but only few would stay. Look at the Swiftlets dropping marks. All these are from young Swiftlets. They are from other people's farms. If  this Swiftlets farm could capture 30% of it he would be laughing to the bank. Unfortunately that was not  the case. Not only this Swiftlet farm is unable to capture other people's birds, it can't even retain its own young birds.

Can you count the tweeter? Obviously yes. I guess each floor has less than 20 tweeters. The owner replied, " Sifu said no need so many tweeters one."  

If this guy can be a Sifu with such skill then all who read my blog could be Sifu too. Am I right?.

It should have at least 80 tweeters. Strategically placing them at the corners as Swiftlets like building nests at corners.

The pictures show most  tweeters ( below or next ) have nests near them. It indicates the important of Internal sound in a Swiftlet farm. This is very basic of Swiftlet farming but it is not being  practiced in this Swiftlet farm..

There are tonnes of problems in this Swiftlet farm. I explained every each and  single problem to the owner. I told him how these problems arise and how they can be solved. It is a one to one guide making sure he understand it so that he could manage it himself without relying on others.

As we all could see from the pictures, we can not deny that people with such skill are  building Swiftlet farms for others and claimed to be Sifu.

上个星期有人打电话给我。 “James你有卖燕子蛋吗？我急要的！”

我即时的回答是“没有”。我第一件想到的事就是......“情况真的如此糟糕吗，再也没有燕子在天空中来吸引，必不得以，不得不求助于交叉培养？”或者，他是那么的生涩，他无法吸引任何燕子到他的燕屋农场“。

我不鼓励人们卖燕子蛋和非常不赞成那些在收获燕窝的时候把燕子蛋扔掉。这是完全不人道。他们以保护自己的燕屋农场为名，把燕子蛋扔掉。

长期这样做，整个燕屋农场的燕子​​人口将下降。历史已经证明，很多年前在爪哇岛也面临同样的问题迫使燕屋主冒险到新的地方建立新的燕屋农场。从爪哇许多搬迁到Pontianak, Samarinda，Balik Papan的地方。

在你买燕子蛋之前你知道如何处理它们在您把它们放入您的燕屋农场之前吗？许多人本来以为很容易，就如在超市买鸡蛋一样的，并带它们带回家。那并不是好像您想象中那么简单。

选择那些良好的椭圆形。奇怪形状或特大型的都不宜选用。外壳表面应该光滑，没有发线裂缝的。我们也带放大镜来检查燕子蛋。有沉积物和污垢的燕子蛋通常不会孵化的。

为了要知道蛋的质量，用上一个手电筒来检查的过程是必要的。在那些时代人也使用蜡烛。来看蛋的内部。蛋黄应该在中心和稳定的。不应该有血点在里面。那些有瘀点的蛋，孵化成功率较低。

但是还有更多的东西，但我想这是足以让你学习，为了不让别人欺骗你。

"Do You Have Swiftlet Eggs for Sales?" How To Buy Swiftlet Egg

Someone called me last week. " James do you sell Swiftlets eggs? I need them urgently!"

My instant reply was  "NO". First thing that struck my mind was...."Is the situation so bad that there were no more Swiftlets in the sky to attract that he has to resort to cross fostering?" Or he is so unskillful that he can't attract any Swiftlet to his Swiftlet farm".

I don't encourage people selling Swiftlets eggs and strongly again those whose throw away eggs during harvesting. It is totally inhuman. There are throwing the eggs in the name of protecting their Swiftlet farms from competitions.

By doing this in long run the whole Swiftlet population of an area  would decline. History has shown, the Jawa Island was facing the same problem many years ago forcing Swiftlet farmers to venture to new places to establish new farming. From Jawa many moved to places like Pontianak, Samarinda, Balik Papan, to name few.

Before you buy Swiftlets eggs do you know how to handle them prior to putting them in your Swiftlet farm? Many would have thought easy, same as buying chicken eggs from Super Market and bring them home. Well it is not as easy as you think.

Since we are talking about Swiftlets eggs, well let me give you some tips on how to select Swiftlet eggs. I had learned all these through my painstaking experience. At that time, many years back  no one  would willing to teach or give tips about selecting Swiftlets eggs. I guess even now ....except me ha ha ha ha....

Firstly, you much know how to identify and differentiate them. If you are not familiar with what you are buying you may ended up buying the wrong thing.

Swiftlet eggs are white in color with a slight light blueish tone. Seriti eggs are are white with a little of deep brown spots. Those who go to Indonesia to buy Swiftlet eggs must me be careful or you may ended up with many Seriti eggs. If the seller knows  that you know very little about Swiftlet eggs selection they would mix the Swiftlet eggs with other eggs.

Select those that  are in good oval shape. Odd shaped or oversize ones shouldn't be selected. The shell surface should be smooth and without hair line cracks. We do bring along  magnifying glasses  to check the eggs. Eggs with sediments and dirt normally wouldn't hatch.

In order to know the quality of the eggs a flashlight process is needed. In old days people are using candle. It is to see the inside of the eggs. The egg yolk should be in the center  and stable. There shouldn't be blood spots inside. Those with blood spots would have a lower success rate of hatching.

HI-Nest B-52 is not an ordinary Amplifier. It was created and designed to play high quality Swiftlet sounds. As I had written in my previous articles before , I wanted an Amplifier than could produce sharp and high quality Swiftlet sounds  (frequencies ). B-52 Amplifier is tuned to Swiftlet frequency.

Lately, I've received many calls and emails from my readers regarding sound system in Swiftlet farms .  They want to know how to tune the Hi-Nest B-52 Amplifier and how to use the GS-18 and the TX-20 tweeters effectively with the B-52 Amplifier. They want to attract young birds to stay in their farms. 

Swiftlet sounds come in many different frequencies. The chirping sounds of adult birds are different from those of young birds (chicks), the chirping sound from  Swiftlets laying eggs is different from those that are mating and so on. They have different characteristics, rhythms, pitches,tone, etc. 

All these sounds have different meanings and they are used for communicate with other birds. The pitches and tones are different. If you had listened and studied Swiftlet sounds long enough you would understand the meaning of each sound. Well it is not easy but it can be done and I am a good example of it. I had learned this through my many years of listening and remixing Swiftlet sounds for my customers/readers.

With all these knowledge it really helps in Swiftlet sound editing and remixing. When I make a new Swiftlet sounds, I know which and what sounds should be included in the remix and what shouldn't be included. Here you can't do a guessing game. Any error of including unfamiliar sounds in the remix would chase away birds and deter them from entering the Swiftlet farm.

Tuning and setting the Amplifier for a specific use is very important. HI-Nest B-52 Amplifier can be used for both Internal and External. All you need to do is to have a different setting ( tuning) for each Internal and External.

When we designed the Hi-Nest B-52 Amplifier . We also wanted a set of high quality tweeters to support the same frequency produced by the Hi-Nest B-52 Amplifier. Therefore the GS-18 and the TX-20 tweeters were created. These Tweeters could accommodate the power and frequency of the Amplifier thus producing clear and sharp quality sound.

Secondly, never overload the Amplifier. Once an Amplifier is overloaded, its lifespan will be shorten. It would still play, perhaps a month, 3 months , 5 months . You would never know when it would breakdown.

" How many Amplifiers are needed in a 3 Storey Swiftlet farm?". This is often asked by readers.

Well, my recommendation is 4 Amplifiers. Each floor has one Amplifier to play an Internal sound and one Amplifier for the whole farm to play an External sound. With such formation, in the event, if one of the Internal Amplifiers breakdown the remaining 2 Amplifiers will  be still playing. In such case you don't have to worry about the whole Swiftlet farm is without sound.

"How many Internal Tweeters should a 3 storey Swiftlet farm have?"  It depends on the size of a Swiftlet farm, also it depends on the design of the nesting plank. Some Nesting plank formation have more vertical planks. Some have smaller space between planks and so on. As a rule of thumb, for a size of 20x60ft averagely it should have 80-120 tweeters. Then again all subjected to the Planking design. Remember too few it won't attract birds to stay and build nests. Too many it will chase away birds as it confuses them.

这个燕屋农场有很多錯誤和問題存在。以下只是整個問題的一小部分。还有很多的问题我沒把它放在這裡。这只是一些非常基本的东西燕屋主必须知道的，如果他还想要繼續在养燕行业。

1) 入口洞是太大了。不一定越大越好。大多數人擁護大的入口洞容易让燕子飛進進出。但是要銘記，大的入口洞也有其局限性。乾旱空氣能輕易流入燕屋农场使整個内部环境不穩定。其他相關的問題是掠食动物，小偷，等等)

2) 光线很容易能滲透到燕屋农场使整个燕屋农场变的太亮。以上的照片为了打擊太亮，环绕区都塗成黑色。如果小的入口洞將解決問題而不需要把环绕区涂上黑漆。入口洞和整个燕屋農場的所有部分之間的都有相關性的。对入口洞有所調整或改变會影響整個內部环境，因此，整个内部设计 (分區) 必須重新調整如果改了入口洞的大小。

大部分的人將會效仿，把环绕区涂上黑漆却不知道反效果。在参关过上千的燕屋农场之後，我發現許多燕屋农场的环绕区都塗上黑漆。它已成為一種規範、 標準和必須要有塗上黑漆。

它是被誤解。誰說燕屋农场都必須漆上黑漆呢? 我可以告訴你並不是所有的环绕区或作窝區必須漆上黑漆。只有當有必要時，在完成後所有的努力，我們仍然不能減少的光线的密度。

2) 互连洞太小了，位置在錯誤的地方。尺寸大小是約3x5尺。我知道為什麼互连洞是这么建。它是为了減少光线的密度，因为入口洞太大了。

之前那位顧問應該把入口洞做的較小。通過這樣做，他可以選擇較大的互连洞。大的互连洞可以让燕子輕鬆地飞到低楼。

3) 從觀察，多數的燕窝被修造在樓梯口。這个地方的温度和光密度都是很好。(不太暗也不太亮)。如果整个作窝区可以都重複，都好像这个楼梯口的條件，那么這個燕屋农场可以收穫很多公斤的燕窝了。由此可見，這个燕屋农场是可以拯救，可以轉身的。

4) 所有的角落應裝上壁角板。年輕的燕子喜歡作窝在角落，因為它們的爪子可以抓住木板和壁角板之間的間隙行。

沒有壁角板就只有一個差距線如以上照片所示。壁角板它創建2条差距线。許多人聲稱壁角板防止燕子作燕窝。它不是真實的。這是一個神話。事實上，壁角板有助於提振燕窝增長。

5) 太少的高音喇叭。當我提到之前，一切都必須在平衡。太少也不會吸引燕子作燕窝。太多的高音喇叭把燕子混淆了。对于這个燕屋农场它絕對是太少的高音揚聲器。高音喇叭不花多少錢。如果你可以花數萬零吉，將它轉換成燕屋农场，花幾百零吉的高音揚聲器是什麼。

我猜这个決定不是來自燕屋主，正如他所知甚少关于養燕，所以一定是來自為他建造燕屋农场的人。它是完全關于節約成本。看来这个顧問似乎更關注為他的客戶節省成本比建立一個成功的燕農場。

6) 高音喇叭都不安裝在角落。它們被安裝在离角落幾寸的距離。如果你看過我以前的文章中的照片，你會注意到大多數的燕窝建在角落的高音喇叭上。它們喜歡造窝在高音喇叭上面。為什麼这个燕屋农场不这么做?

7) 到处都有蟑螂。許多的蟑螂还在盡情享用燕窩。它們甚至在白天的時間在外面。我確信在晚上有上千的蟑螂出來。

當被問及蟲害控制时，燕屋主回答:"那是什麼?我們真正的需要吗。我從來沒有聽說过"。

8) 錯誤的高音喇叭形成。它是錯誤的，把所有的高音喇叭都安装在面對一個方向。进去你的燕屋農場，然后自己觀察里面的燕子飛行。所有的燕子飛在一個圆圈，不管是顺時鐘或反時鐘。

當他們在盤旋的地方，在圈子另外一个方向就是它們開始的方向。它們的頭將面对着另外一个方向。为了吸引它們留下來和做燕窝，最重要的是有一些高音喇叭朝向不同的方向。(參考請參閱之前的文章，對音響系統形成)。

9) 有許多燕子在燕屋农场中玩，但是它們不會留下和做燕窝。很可惜看到這一點。燕窝都是很薄和變了形状。一些長型，一些未完成的，因为它們在做完之前就離開了。這些燕窝在这个燕屋农场可以有它的故事。它指示燕屋农场的條件很差。只是看看那些燕窝我就知道屋内环境是出了问题...完全出错。

燕子曾过要留下和做燕窝，因为我親眼目睹了一大批燕子進入燕屋农场，但目前狀況阻止了它們這樣做。

10) 內部的溫度很容易在陰天達到32C。想像一下在炎熱和乾燥的一天，温度会热到那里......35..37..40C...?

11) 這個燕屋农场沒有喷雾器。我看到这些燕窝的形狀就已經知道濕度是很低。我不需要用濕度計来檢查。燕窝也表明了一切。

很可惜，看到很多未完成的燕窝。燕屋主很幸運。对于地点他有完全的优势，但是不知道如何利用。

現在我需要出一個改造計畫来把它轉回來。在评估它的屋内和屋外环境之后。我很有信心，在几个月內燕窝的增長會增加一倍，。

燕子在那里已經有數千上万的，现在最重要的是使它們留下來。这是一个金矿但是却沒有人知道怎麼去开发。
